Our net should be back up about mid jan. I am so ready to get it back! Theres only so much fun in taking my puter everywhere for wifi.
S and i are out shopping with dh and FIL.
Later we'll be going to moms for Christmas Eve family fun (and moms bday). Fun fun!

dh was in on the weekend with us which was nice. he had to leave otu on sunday afternoon though. he's hoping he'll get to be home before friday this week. me too!
friday Katlyn has a band concert, saturday the kids will be in the town parade with the Kung Fu class. this coming tuesday Gavin will be in a class chorus program at school.

I had to take Sarina to the dr today cause she finally caught the congestion cold we've been passing around at home. poor thing. sleeping at night has NOT been good though. last night she got to sleep at 11, woke up at 12:30 and didnt get back to sleep til 4. I of course couldnt get to sleep til about 5 or later then woke at 6:22 to check on the kids. she did end up sleeping til 9 after that though.
so she has congestion (not in her lungs though), a slight ear infection in her left ear and a yeast infection that we've been battling for a week. :P
oh, she's 21 lbs as well, which means she's actually slowing down now. LOL!!

ugh, I'm on moms dsl tonight, but its acting goofy, not loading pages and stuff. I hope this posts!

I'm sure there's a ton more to yak about. guess I could start keeping a file typed up so all I have to do is copy/paste!

oh, Garrett's new phrase is "I Wa You" (I love you) and he says it like 2000000000000000000000000000000 times a day. LOL! he gets VERY upset if I dont answer him too which can be irritating if I'm doing something else, like on the phone, counting, disciplining, etc. LOL!

Hunter speak

earlier this week we seen my Sis while out shopping. Hunter says "she's not seen me with my new glasses yet, right?" I thought and said "no, she's not." he replied "she's only seen me with my eyes!"

sash graduation

my oldest 3 have a sash graduation tonight at kung fu! I'm so proud of them and they're all super excited about it. I made their new belts (yellow satin) so they consider them extra special.
I'll get pics tonight and share the next time I'm on my puter.
only a couple weeks maybe til my internet is back up. (?!) geez, I hope it gets here fast!

about Sarina

Name: Sarina

Nickname(s): Red, Na-na, Nina, Little Girl, Baby Girl,

Age: 6.5 months

Weight: about 20 lbs

Height: about 28"

Clothing Size: 12m on average

Diaper Size: 3's

What are they eating?: still mostly nursing with some formula and the occasional table food, but yesterday she actually started 'liking' baby food! it'll be much easier to feed her foods through the day now if she continues.

What kind of eater are they? (picky, voracious, messy, neat...): MESSY and slightly picky! omgosh, this girl can make a mess!! even nursing she dribbles out the side, so when she eats foods, it gets everywhere!! today I even found it on my legs for gosh sakes

How are they Sleeping?: pretty good. still napping about 3 times a day, though she was trying to push that last nap to about 7pm which totally wasnt working for bedtime, so this weekend we've been working on that. otherwise, she'll (normally) still go to bed about 9-10 and sleep to between 2-5am then come to bed with me for nursing and snoozing the rest of the night.

Health: very healthy she will be going on the 19th to get her tongue clipped but she should be back to herself in just a few hours.

Milestones and mobility?: still not officially crawling yet, just gets up on all 4's, rocks, goes backwards wonderfully, but will flop herself forward as of this weekend. I dont really expect her to get mobile (officially) til she's 7 months.
she also cut her first tooth last week!

'language' skills? fav sound is still ba-ba and ya-ya, but she does sometimes say da-da. she also raspberries really great.

Favorite activities or toys: ME! we're totally going through seperation anxiety now and she doesnt like me getting out of her sight. :P

CTTD (cute things they do): she curls her nose up and snorts

Been any new places? hmm... no, dont think so.

How is Mommy/family feeling: feeling better! been working on the body challenge so I'm not so down on myself.

Anything else: have I mentioned that i dont like seperation anxiety?

so I made it through tonight! woo! I'm so proud of myself
as soon as the kids got home off the bus, we got our gear together and headed out to kung fu class. after dropping the boys off (K went home with a friend today so they could TOT around her neighborhood) I went to pick up some clothes that were being given to us, so I got 2 diaper boxes of clothes there, along with a strawberry costume for Sarina (which is cool since we have none)
so back into town I go, enough time to sit in the truck and go through the boxes before class is over and to get H and Garrett into their power ranger costumes (the stretchy ones they play in-we just slipped them over their regular clothes LOL).
we left the truck at the dojo and walked up town to the square where they were doing trunk or treat for the city.
now, anyone that's been following me knows we usually go to our church for their fall fest and don't do costumes or anything, just go and play games, ride rides and get tons of candy. so this is actually the first year my kids have been to any type of TOT thing. (yes, *gasp* *shock* and all that stuff, but they've been fine and we've had tons of candy to prove it LMBO!)
so they were excited that we were doing this to say the least.
our town decided to do the TOT thing tonight instead of tomorrow (not sure why) so it seems ALL the surrounding counties came here for extra loot! omgosh, the square was packed-but I didn't know the half of it when we first walked up! LOL! so we came in and went through a few cars then went on to the main area that people were milling about and I just join in with the crowd (oops, I found out later that we actually cut "line" LOL), we walk around half the block and I see the block-long line still waiting to go through the square!!! *WTH?!* so I'm like "those people are waiting to get in here to the other side of the square??... oh no. we're so done!" so we pack up and head back to the dojo (about a 3 block walk).
we got a big bowl full of candy (K didn't share what she got, so that's just between the 3 boys LOL).
Gavin told me on the way back "mom, I'm not sure about this TOT stuff cause that's a whole lot of walking to do" LMBO
Garrett never would hold his bag to get candy... in fact the first time someone put a piece IN his bag, he snatched it back out and proceeded to gobble all he could while he had the bag!! I had to take it away eventually, but there's no telling how much he managed to stuff in his gullet. LOL!!!

I seen some friends up there, including the lady that gave us the clothes and it seems a LOT of people know Canaan. girls, I've got a popular boy on my hands cause all kinds of little girls were hollering "Canaan!!!!!!!!"
I took the 5 to captain ds afterwards (before the crowds came in!) then we went to pick up Sis and came home about 8:30 to hurry and get kids ready for bed. :P
this weekend will seem like half an empty house cause C and K will be staying with friends tomorrow, C has 2 parties to go to Saturday and Sunday he has play practice and we have church.
Robert comes home tomorrow night and I told him it'll probably be a quiet weekend...maybe! LOL!

but ugh, I feel like we're always running and the kids are never home. I'm in withdrawal. LOL

so Sarina had her appt with the ENT today. I had to be there just over an hour earlier than expected cause the doc had to leave the office. put me in a rush to get out of here, but we made it!
the office was SUPER nice! (speaking of the staff and doc) so that was a really good thing to walk into. they all just made over Sarina and her red hair. one of the nurses even took her to play with her after the appt while we were scheduling.
the doc is super sweet. he does see some tongue tie in her, not severe, but enough that he's worried about her speech later on or little things like the ability to lick ice cream cones and such (he even mentioned kissing LOL). so we'll be going on Nov. 19th for her out patient surgery. (and insert other various *nervous* smilies in here). we have to be there at 5:30 since she'll be the first surgery but its not til 7, but wont take any longer than 10 minutes to complete. she'll be sleeping, but breathing on her own the whole time, so will be able to go about her normal eating when she wakes up.
I called my dad to see if he could go with us, so he's going to be here at the house when we're ready to leave (about 4:30 am) and will hang out with us that day. H and Garrett will just stay the night with my mom on Tuesday so they wont have to get up early. the big kids can get off to school on their own.
he did ask if anyone else was tongue tied, which we know of no one on either side of the family. he said it's usually a genetic thing, but not so very uncommon to not know family that have it.
so its a simple procedure, but I'm still asking for any prayers and thoughts to make this easier. pleeeeeeeeeeeease!

otherwise things are the same. didn't go to kung fu tonight as I got in right when the kids got off the bus so way too hectic to get right out the door to go. :P

TAPS for the micro and all that jazz

checking in for a bit. dh is home this weekend the reason I'm not on here playing of course. he has to go back to AL on Monday again. he said they should only have one or two more weeks on this job.
we'll be going to the city tomorrow to go to Sams and take a BUNCH of stuff to goodwill (from switching out summer/winter stuff) and we're checking into some phone options for the family.

oh, we had to buy a new microwave today (thank goodness for good paychecks now) cause while fixing dinner Friday night, it went *ZAP!!!!!!!* while cooking up some broccoli! dead as a doornail! so we got a new one today the same size as our other (it had lasted us for 13 years BTW), and it looks great, sounds great, all that stuff... except one important thing... it doesn't COOK anything!!!! darn GE. doesn't even get anything warm for gosh sakes. so it goes back tomorrow!

the funniest thing though was Friday night, C wanted to fix himself a bowl of soup. he got ready to stick it in the micro, then realized he couldn't. so he looked at me like *hmmm?* and asked "what am I supposed to do?!" ROFLOL!!
so I had to explain that before there were microwaves people had to use the big thing called the stove! he felt goofy after about 2 seconds of saying what he did.

I wanted to update last night, but didnt get a chance and was too tired by the time everyone went to bed.
yesterday was... well, a day. the first part was fine, got in town for my WIC pickup, mom took the two boys and I just had Sarina. made things much easier.
C had called before I'd left to say his tummy was hurting and was wanting to come home. so before I picked up the boys, I picked up Canaan.
he ended up spending the rest of the day laying down or sleeping or being in the bathroom. geez, I hope it doesnt go around the house! I'd picked him up about 10:30 and there were already about 12 kids that had been picked up from sickness before him. :P

so the time at home was fine. when K and Gav got off the bus we loaded up (minus C) and went to karate practice. (they got to break boards last night!)
we had spaghetti for dinner to finish off some sauce I had opened up. always a hit in this house

as we were getting ready for bed though that's when it got interesting. Garrett was playing in the living room with Hunter and fell... on the small speaker that's in front of the tv... on the corner. imagine a perfect corner/right angle stabbing into your forehead and that's what Garrett got.
so after I got the bleeding stopped, my Sdad came over (we'd been trying to reach mom, but she was in the church for practice and we couldnt get through) to watch the little ones and C went with me to the ER.
it was already about 9:30 by this time.
G was calm by then as well, the wound was just seeping and I'd cleaned his face off cause seeing himself covered in blood made him cry harder (and of course caused more stress just being that way).
I'm very happy to say the staff was quick (and they werent busy) so we got in fast and out fast.
I thought for sure he'd need stitches to pull the skin back out and pull it together, but they were able to use dermabond and steri strips. he did SO well through it all too! never made a peep, just stared at the nurse fixing him up. totally surprised me!
we were heading home by 10:30. TY Lord!
it took him a while to go to sleep, but he slept well all night and only ended up taking off the bandaid that was over the work by this morning.
he's not complained of his head at all today, though he's been super whiney since he cracked his eyes open.
oh, and K and G missed the bus this morning cause C still wasnt feeling well. I reminded K that she does have an alarm clock. :P so my morning was even earlier to get them in town (and had to take Garrett with us cause they woke him up too).
I'm pooped. LOL

we had a good day here though, stayed busy! we left here around 9:30 this morning. FIL hadnt left out yet, but we said our 'byes' cause he'd be gone before we got back.
grabbed some BK before getting to teh doc's office *yum!*

Sarina of course is a perfect baby. she's 19.9 lbs and 28", HC is 17.5", so everything is on the exact same curve with her now. the doc was a *bit* concerned that her weight has just gone straight up over the last few months instead of showing a wee bit of slacking off signs. (she didnt mention it, I asked about it). I'm thinking it may mostly be from where I put her in bed with me at night after she waked around 2 and just let her suck and sleep for however long. obviously she gets plenty of calories from that. :)
her ears are perfect (a question I asked since she's always pulling her ears. I'd hoped it was just from 'finding' them and it is). she's hit all her milestones for things she should be doing as well.
the only issue is her tongue. I mentioned the slight fork at the tip of her tongue and the doc wants her to be looked at JIC. she doesnt think it will cause her any problems since she's now nursing well and can eat solids fine, but wants a specialist to give it a look to make sure it wont give problems later on in life. so I'll call back tomorrow for that appt. hopefully it wont even be an issue and we'll have no worries with it.

stopped at a couple of thrift stores on teh way back then got my shop done. got home and had time to get a bit of lunch for the kids and I before K adn G got off the bus. they got off the bus about 4:15 and we were back out the door by 4:40 to go pick up C at football and head to karate class. we were 6 minutes late (started at 5). I was in such a rush I actually forgot my purse!
thankfully I had enough gas to get back home (and back to town) cause I'd been up poop creek otherwise! LOL!

Garrett was sent to bed just after 8. :( he's been SUCH a handfull lately. I need to pull out my journals to find out when this stage passes. and for the record, Hunter was sent to bed early as well cause he's coming in a close 2nd in the race for Royal Booger between the two.

still gotta get my shower in
tomorrow's Thursday! woo!! that means dh will be home soon! TG! :)

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

my oldest 3 are back in school today. its pretty quiet here in the house right now. Sarina is still snoozing (though don't know how long that'll last since G is wide awake and in full form). G's already pooped on the pot this morning, Hunter has already tried taking a toy away from him. I still need to get on the treadmill. FIL is off to the city to get some more things done today.
I picked up a huge bag of free clothes from the karate studio last night (for Garrett). she was giving it all away. after class FIL took us to eat at Captain Ds.
after getting home we ended up watching the ballgame last night.
I went to bed by 10 and finished
the book
I was reading by 2 am. I'm tired today, but it was worth it.

today we're going to skip all classes and practices after school to just hang out with FIl since he'll be leaving out in the morning and the kids likely wont see him again til Christmas. not sure what I'll fix for dinner yet.

Sunday, October 12, 2008

so FIL came in on Friday evening (didn't he? dang, I don't remember! maybe it was Saturday afternoon? LOL) and we've been hanging out all weekend. we didn't go to church today even. felt weird. LOL!
yesterday was pretty low key. dh got up with me and we went yard saleing. didn't find a whole lot, but he did score a pressure washer he's been wanting a very long time. seems we always spend a whole lot more when he goes with us... same as the grocery store! LOL! so he'll be eating sandwiches all week since he spent his per diem money on that. its a nice one though, and now we don't have to look at spending twice as much on a new one.

the kids and I have been playing with the yard play stuff I picked up for $1 a couple weeks ago! K and I have been playing badmitten like crazy and I count it towards my exercise points for the challenge. even HER arms are sore!

oh, the biggest news of the weekend has got to be that Sarina is actually starting to eat solids now! um... she loves bread. I know, I know, bad mommy! LOL! K and I were lunching on Friday and S kept wanting my sandwich, so I gave her a nibble of bread and YUM she ate and ate! I was awed to say the least! this from the girl who always gags, makes lemon faces and clamps her lips tight at any sign of solids!
so later I let her try some more peas and she ate about 1/4 a stage one jar! wow! Saturday she ate another 1/4, a bit less today (rice cereal... even with a pinch of sugar in it... was still a yuck). she's been getting nibbles off my plate though. today we lunched at fazolis and she had a few small pieces of spaghetti. and of course, bread.
she makes a TOTAL mess while eating though! I can see she's going to be like K was for years (til just recently!) and leave a mess wherever she eats. LOL!

the kids have enjoyed FIL being home of course. Garrett knows him and calls him Papaw for now and of course adores his semi parked out in the drive! Sarina is not so fond of it, he blew the horns and she immediately let her lip fall out and burst into tears! took forever to get her to quit too! is that the little girl part of her??

dh goes back to AL in the morning. *sniff* been nice with him home. FIL will be here til Wednesday I think, then he goes back to PA. the kids go back to school on Tuesday and Wednesday is S's 6m appt. not to mention karate each night. so at least we wont be bored.

ok, I'm sure there's more, but I haven't written notes down this weekend. I do have Sarina's 6m pics uploading, though I may post them tomorrow. my eyes are hurting tonight.

Thursday, October 02, 2008

Sarina is a regular ol' fussy butt today! she eats, she's fussy, she sleeps, she's fussy, she plays, she's fussy. that girl needs a happy pill! she's in the exersaucer right now fussing off and on, but ok.
when I tried to see if she'd eat some cereal around lunch it was like OMG, how DARE you try that! LOL! this girl is not in any way shape or form into solids.  oh well.

the kids will be home in just a little while! maybe I'll get Katlyn to take baby sister ;)
so dh had to leave out about 4 this morning. he's going to have to get used to that again. he'll be home tonight, but believes they want him to go to ... AL (I think) for next week. the kids will be on fall break then too so that kinda stinks. I think he went back to work a week early. but no football practice next week either, so the week should be pretty laid back.

my legs are so very sore from my running yesterday! like when I first started exercising sore. I still did my workout this morning though. I had a good drop on the scale this morning so that boosted my confidence! I'm able to up the reps on almost all the exercises I do as well, so I'm getting stronger!

not much on the agenda today besides the normal. its chilly in here! oh, C does have a football game tonight at the school. I'm going to see if I can make that for him.

Wednesday, October 01, 2008

I did my walking/running outside today! and its rather brisk out there so my lungs were burning afterwards.
ya know what irks me though? my digital scales aren't changing, but my dial scales are. what's up with that?? very irritating! my measurements are changing though, so I know I'm dropping stuff besides sweat.

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Carrie, whom I've known OL for quite a few years now, is a big inspiration for me in her weight loss. she's done such an excellent job!

Monday, September 29, 2008

so last night was interesting. before bed, Sarina decided to puke all her milk up. twice. not sure what was wrong, we figure she just drank too much when she took her night time bottle about an hour before. she went to sleep without nursing, which I was glad about cause I didn't know how her tummy would act, and she was fine all night, though she was up about every 2.5 hrs cause of not getting that bottle. she's been fine today as well, so I guess it was a one time thing.

in other Sarina news, I can see where her bottom two teeth are pushing up her gums now. not expecting them until at least 6m, maybe 7 months though, but they're coming! no others are noticeable yet.

when she's ready to nurse, she gets all excited and starts snorting/breathing heavy as she gets in my lap, then when she's about ready to latch on, she starts 'singing' to the bb! then hums for the first few seconds! sooooooooo funny!!

Garrett: he's picked up a couple new words this weekend (or rather clarified words). the first was Friday morning when it was chilly in the house. he came out just in a diaper from waking up and was grouching and complaining. I kept asking him what he wanted, but he kept whining. (ugh) so finally I fixed him his chocolate milk and got his cereal bar and sat him at the table. well, after a minute, he leans back to holler for me in the bathroom. I look to him and ask what he wanted and he said "BLANK-IE!!"he sure told me! LMBO!!
then yesterday morning while getting ready for church, he noticed that one of the cats had puked in the utility room. so I was guiding him around it and he says "NAS-TAY!"
cracking me up!!!

the kids go on fall break this Friday! a whole week of having all my babies at home! daddy will likely be going back to work as well, so it'll be chaos.

gotta get the bills paid this morning, I've put it off all weekend. :P

weekend update

ok, going to try to do my update while I got a sec. following my notes, so if it sounds jumbled, sorry! LOL!
first off, dh's teeth are doing really well (or non-teeth actually). the two molars came out really easy and he got 9 stitches to pull the gums together. he's already wanting to get them out (which will be done Tuesday morning before he goes to the doc for a reevaluation).
Thursday night (see, I don't know how long its been since I updated LOL) Gavin's
team won their game! it moved them to the finals which were played this morning!
Friday night C and K's team won their game as well! Their playoff game is on Monday evening. I hope they pull it off!
Thursday night, K came to us asking if one of her bus friends could stay the night. uh, never met this girl for one thing! plus with how hectic the weekend was going to be, not a good time to do it! well we said 'yes' at first, cause of being put on the spot (which I wasn't happy about), but then said no just cause of what all was going on. if she stayed I'd not be able to go to the game of
C and K's cause we'd not have room in the truck. :P well, the little girl ended up coming home with her Friday afternoon! argh!
now, for one thing- her parents have never met us, we've never met them. WHO sends their 10 (or so) YO kid off to someone they've never even met? I mean come on people!! that just wierds me out cause its something I'd not do!
well, dh made K tell her she couldn't stay that night, so she called her mom to pick her up. she lives about 2 miles on down the road, so no big deal. we finally get to meet her mom (and little brother) then and explained everything (hate sounding like the bad parents LOL) and she was totally cool with it. we told her and K that they can plan for another night, just give us more notice!
Friday, dh says he wants to go to the city. FIL wants us to drop a payment off for him anyway, so we decided to hit Sams as well while we're up there. now, yesterday was my total FLOP day as far as my WL goes! geez, I think I drank DP all day! totally not good for losing weight! LOL! my only saving grace was the walking we did around the mall and sams that day!
I found some awesome deals at the mall! some more 'clear out the summer stuff' sales going on! for the boys I got 3 Mario t-shirts for $5 each (SO hard to find!!) and a rock-n-roll tee for C $5. for Sarina, I found a sundress w/ bloomers for .99, a snap bottom shirt for .99 (both of those for next summer), an aqua miniskirt for .50 and a pair of pink cotton pants .50, both for now! (got pics of those to share). also found a pair of korker type bows from gymbo for 2.50.
and found myself a shirt for 1.50. like I said, awesome deals!!

one thing about Friday was that Garrett went potty for us the whole day!!!!! we're so proud of him! at sams we made at least 4 trips to the potty, even once for a poop!!!  he's done wonderfully! not that he doesn't go in his pull-ups at all, but one PU will last us all day now!

so like I said, Friday night we all got to go to the game, it was a gorgeous night for it too! they won and we went to have pizza hut afterwards with my mom and Sdad. K went home with them afterwards and we dropped C off at one of his friend's house for a bday sleep over and we brought the other kiddos home.
about as soon as we got home we had to get the kids showered and in the bed cause Gavin's game was at 8 this morning. thankfully Sarina slept well for me last night (the night before she was very restless- I think because we had all the windows up and she got to chilly). last night though she went to bed at 9 and didn't wake till after 4 am!
it was chilly this morning, but not as bad as we thought it'd be. Gavin's team didn't win today though, so they got 2nd place out of 7 teams, still great!! after the trophies were given out, he happily told me "its my first real trophy momma!!!"
so happy for him! (got pics of that too)
cool thing, while at the trophies, I seen a guy I graduated with. I knew he was in town, just hadn't seen him in years- like since K was a baby! I heard a kid called for a trophy w/ his last name and started looking around for him. he's not changed much at all! after the trophies I went up to him to say hi (didn't know if he'd remember me) but he did! said I was always a sweet girl that was always nice to everyone and with a great personality. *blush* made me feel good to be memorable when I wasn't one of the 'in crowd' KWIM?
so we yakked for a bit and he took me over to see his family and littlest one (a girl about Garrett's age). met his wife... and I don't think she was too impressed with meeting me. I'm thinking she has a jealous streak over David I guess, she never smiled at me. oops! LOL!
so after trophies, Gavin's coach wanted to take all the kids to McDs for happy meals and ice cream-a huge hit! LOL!! so guess where we had lunch. yeah, another great day for me losing weight. LMBO! the kids had fun though so its all worth it.
after that we hit a few yard sales. dh found him a radial saw for $80 which is something he's been drooling over for YEARS but could never afford them (they run $300 and up easy) so I was happy that he finally got himself that. he'll be out there cutting wood even more often now. LOL!!
oh, the place we got the saw from, they were selling their house as well. he told us to take a peek through since H and Garrett had to go potty. very nice house, though not overly "DONT TOUCH" KWIM? 5 bdrms, 4 bath and 2 kitchens! 3 story with a full finished basement on 18 acres. yeah, I'd love me some of that! LOL!! but at the price it totally wasn't/isn't happening! $550,000!!! yikes!!! oh well. nice to look at anyway.
oh, I got me a free blender at a yard sale! woo!

K and C are at church since this afternoon. They're having a youth rally with games, music and all sorts of stuff. They're still not home yet.
in baby news, Sarina totally freaked me out last night by getting up on her hands/knees and ROCKING! I said "girlfriend you better quit that!!" LMBO!! I don't think she'll crawl till at the least 6 months though, but dang, she went from just rolling/playing all over the floor and pushing herself forward with her feet only or pushing backwards with her arms to doing that all of a sudden. eek! stop it baby! LOL!
oh, and dh and I came up with a new nickname for her today. after picking a tomato that was a bit light, I said, "that's the same color as her hair" ... so guess what we said?
'Mater! *ROFLMBO* I told dh that's a great reason to be mad at ones parents! LMBO!!!

I'm down another .5 lb today! gotta love watching the numbers go down instead of up like they have been!
C enjoyed his football practice, he's got a lot to learn though I don't know if he'll actually get a lot of play time in this year or not, but its a learning experience for him at least and keeps him busy.
tonight they have a game, so he'll be going on the ball bus right after school and wont be picked up till about 8:30. they do kick kids off the team if they cant keep their grades up, so he's been warned LOL! he's doing really well this year though, so hopefully it wont even be an issue!
tonight is Gavin's playoff game at 6. if they win tonight, they'll play again on Thursday. if not, then trophies Saturday. K and C play their playoff game on Friday, but they have the championship game scheduled for MONDAY. tell me how they're going to do that since trophies are Saturday?

picked up a new entertainment center for the boys room today. my sis has been waiting for us to pick it up seems like forever and we finally went to get it today! its much smaller than the huge thing in the boys room now, so it'll give them more space!

have had a good day and a good weekend. Saturday we were kinda lazy after a busy start. Gavin had his last regular game (they won!) and are in 3rd place right now. he plays Tuesday for the first day of tourneys and we'll have to see how it goes after that. we hit a few yard sales, and picked up a few things from the store then back home. they had a car show in town that day so dh picked up C and they went in town for a few hours to ooooo and ahhhhhh
we others vegged here at home.

Sunday was church and stayed home afterwards to cook burgers and fries. saved $20 easy!
today starts C's first day of football practice. dh says he's going to go up there and watch. it'll be interesting to see how he does with it. he's been learning all he can about it and practicing on his throwing the last week.

today I've got a roast and all the fixings in the oven, dang it smells SO good in here!!

I've stuck to my WL plan and today was aerobic for me and I pushed myself harder. I'm determined still to do good at this! one week down, 11 to go! oh, I've already lost 3.5" overall already!! I'm wondering how often to take progression pics. I thought maybe another set at the 6 week mark for comparison and a final at the 12 week mark.

ok, guess that's it, I think. I should make notes of what I want to yap about

remembering, 13 years ago today I was in the hospital, still waiting for the dr to get off work to come in and check on me after a boring day of laying in the hospital. my mom was there and my sis, but dh was still at work.
I'd been leaking water for 3 days by now (though told it was 'only discharge', even though I had to walk around with a beach towel between my legs) and was more than ready to pop this HUGE kid out. he'd not arrive until about 3 a.m. for me, after some hard pitocin and 2 shots of demoral and the threatening of the on-call doc to use vacuum or forceps to help get him out because of his size. with my hubby's urgent "get this kid out NOW" whispered into my ear, I gathered my strength, cleared out the haze and gave it everything I had to get his big ol' head through and push him into the world. I was nearly tore in two, along with a wonderful ( ) episiotomy, but my 10 lb, 22.5" first son joined us in the wee hours of the morning on September 8, 1995.
and so our parenting journey began...

the weekend was good hence the reason I didnt get on here. let's see...
friday, we did our banking in town and errands. my mom and sdad went to Gatlinburg for the weekend, so I had to go to moms and take care of her kitties for her. also it was C and K's game at 5pm. they lost by one *boo*. they stopped and picked up some movies afterwards casue it was a 2 for $1 night. *woo!*
saturday morning was gavin's game, they lost by 3. they did get their pics taken that morning. it was way early, had to be there at 7:15, though they werent taken til about 7:30, then had a game at 8. afterwards we did our grocery getting so were home about lunch time.
oh, C also went to Holiday World that morning so dh had him at the church at 5:30. dh and I both ended up taking naps saturday
Saturday Sarina started with some sneezing, watery eyes and a bit of a runny nose too. no fever though. I thought it was a cold, but Sunday she was much improved and today she's fine. someone at church mentioned allergies so maybe that was it?
she's also been sleeping like POOP all this weekend. up every 2 hours all night long, except saturday when she was up every 3. woo. it doesnt make a difference if she takes a bottle or nurses, its all teh same. but when she takes a bottle, she's only drinking 3-4oz at most, never the 6 oz she was. I dont think its a growth spurt since she's not eating more, just more often. I'm thinking maybe she's just gotten herself in a habit of waking up like that. I hope we can get her out of that habit. :P

cute stuff though, she gets SO excited talking to herself in the mirror. I hold her up to it and say "Hi baby!" and she just squeals and shrieks so cute and tries to grab the baby she's always loved looking in the mirror, but now its like she's trying to communicate with her LOL

funny stuff from saturday. at the store, gavin told daddy he'd pulled the waist string out of his shorts. daddy, acting serious tells gavin "well, you're going to have to take your shorts off so we can put this back in." gavin says "take my shorts off?!" daddy:"yes, we'll have to work the string back through." so gavin goes and DROPS HIS SHORTS IN THE JUICE AISLE!!!!  I'm like "GAVIN! NOT NOW!"  and he jerks his shorts back up. LMBO!!! crazy kid!

today the kids went back to school to a bunch of RAIN! woo!!!
I got several loads of laundry done and even got my kitchen ceiling vacuumed (yes, I have those blown on type ceilings and they get dusty!), painted a couple of old water marks on the ceiling as well, did dishes, dealt with a very fiesty and unnapped Garrett all day and other shtuff.

tacos for dinner tonight *yum!* and gavin had a game tonight, lost that one as well. that makes 2 wins and 3 losses for his team. only 2 more games to go for him. C and K are supposed to have a game tomorrow night in place of a practice cause the opposing teams coach is going out of town this weekend (were supposed to have a game friday night). we'll see on that one, we've still not gotten a call yet.

me, I've started on a book finally. havent really read a book in quite a while. I dont get much time to actually read it, but I am doing it, which makes me happy.

oh, some funny K stories: she was telling me about some of the kids she goes to classes with today and we were giggling over some of the 6th graders with elmo and barney backpacks funny stuff (not meant in a mean way cause these kids weren't mentally challeneged, they just liked the ones they had LOL). I asked her if she liked a favorite teacher and she said yes, all of them!  so that's good!

gavin had a mishap at school cause a kid tripped over his feet in the lunch room by accident. oops! he didnt get in trouble, but had to go to the 'help center', I guess to make sure it wasnt done on purpose.

guess that's about it, dh is giving a 'chore lecture' so guess i need to be in on it.

pt and school update

dh's PT went well. he was able to do 90% mobility, but the dr is stopping him there for the next few weeks. he only goes once next week again. the doc was also rather ticked that the workman's comp place is asking dh about going back to work already! dh said he actually cussed about it. doc has dh on total disability til 9-29 and doc said that as of right now, he'll leave it up to dh as to when he wants to go back after that. no pushing, no prodding
dh did work in the yard monday and was pretty worn out from it. besides the knee itself, the leg muscles just arent up to par and cant do as much work as his other leg. it all aggravates him, but he knows its part of it and that it'll take more time.

no homework tonight, thank goodness! oh, Gavin told me his homeroom teacher said he was becoming one of her hard workers! :D
and yesterday, a funny thing, when I picked up K from school, her homeroom teacher came to the office to see me. she said 'dont worry, she's doing fine! I just wanted to know if she's liking it ok cause she never says anything!' I told her I'd warned her that K was quiet LOL so I made her feel better by telling her how K always talks excitedly about her classes and teachers. I told dh about that and he about peed his pants he laughed so hard
C has about 4 teachers he's liking so far. his history teacher is his favorite cause he's so cool and hands-on. he even plays rock-n-roll in the class

Sarina 4 m checkup

today went well. got there in time and even got to listen to some radio before going in and S was quiet the whole ride (always a plus)!

so Ms. Sarina did grow like I said! she's 15.6 lbs and 26", HC 16.25"! she chunked up a heck of a lot this last month! but she's still the smallest of all the babies at this age by about 1.5 lbs.
she was quite upset with her shots, but fell asleep pretty quick with some bb and Tylenol.
after leaving there we stopped at Wal-Mart for dipes for G and she had a blowout I had to change (clothes and all).
Katlyn called me while I was there cause her head was hurting and she wanted me to pick her up. she's resting, no fever, just a headache. I figure its the same thing C had. :P
Garrett's glands look better and he's eating things for us, though still a slight fever.
C and Gav should be home in about 15 minutes and then dh will be taking them to practice. K gets to stay in and rest today.

my wrist has been hurting the last couple of days again so I'm back in the brace. I think its cause of my weight. I've really got to get my butt in gear and get rid of some of this stuff.

going ok. nak before we head to S's doc appt. dh is staying home w/ the boys while we go. which is good cause G's glands are swollen this morning, along w/ a low grade fever. poor little guy. no wonder he was so grouchy yesterday. he's back in bed already getting some more rest.
i've got a hardees shop after S's appt, so that'll be my lunch and I'll need to stop for dipes while out. soccer practice tonight!

yesterday we went to my moms after we cleaned up outside to help her can. got more pickles done and made some tomato juice.

so yesterday was a whirlwind, I tried to get on here and post last night before bed, but little miss wouldnt have it, so I logged off.

let's see, dh's check came in on wednesday afternoon, so we went ahead and did our banking yesterday and the grocery getting. that took a good half day there (takes just as long with dh going with me as it does with all the kids LOL)
so yesterday G woke up and had a low grade fever of 100.3 adn still had spots, though not terribly bad, but no where near clear. he stayed the same throughout the day on us but he was acting totally normal! that was a good thing since he wanted to eat again and was playing, being rowdy.
Hunter was feeling better, but still had a slight fever, but he never got sick again after that one time the night before.
so while at walmart, when we started out, G had a few welts on his right side of his face and little places in other spots like his arms/legs. we were in Wmart about 20 minutes and by that time, the whole left side of his face was swollen and welted up, his inner thighs were welted, and all of his forearms and calves! he looked red and swollen everywhere!!!!! it was totally freakign me out and I was getting really scared (though he was still acting normal!)
so we called our local dr to see if we could get him in asap and they told us to come on in! dh ended up taking him cause of the time, the kids were due off the bus soon, I had cold food to put up and S had been in meltdown mode from being in her carseat too long.
they got them in as soon as they got there (as a note, dh said when he walked in, a lady gasped "HE'S GOT THE MUMPS!" and everyone was freaking out, then another said "no, its poison ivy!" adn the head nurse brushed them off saying it wasnt any of that! he had them in panic mode! LMBO!). she took them back to a waiting room that had mirrors and Garrett got to see himself, poor little guy. dh said he looked at himself, touched his face while looking very confused for the longest time and asked daddy "my face?" awwwwwww! he knew something was wrong!
so the dr seen him w/in minutes and after the quick questions on allergenic foods, knew he was just fighting off an infection. the same infection that C had brought from school last weekend, but it was effecting Garrett differently cause of his age/size. dr said the welting was the white blood cells attacking the areas taht the infection was at. which explains why it never stayed in teh same places and could look totally different w/in 20 minutes.
he ordered him put on Zyrtec and a cortizone liquid the next 3 days and to continue the Zyrtec for a couple days after its cleared. he told us it could actually come back or it may never come back.
today though he looks so much better. he still has some red spots, but he's not welted up like a pufferfish has had ahold of him! plus no fever at all (same for hunter).

so there ya have it!

plus the kids had soccer practice last night and tonight C and K have a game and pics and tomorrow morning Gavin has another game.
throw homework into that and just every day stuff and its been a bit crazy around here!

oh, got to update on dh's knee! at his last PT wednesday, the dr said he's not allowed to go any farther yet. even though he has 75% range of motion, he wants him to slow down and just do the exercises he's been doing to give it more time to heal. pushing too hard too fast can set him back a lot and dr is very strict on his 'rules' but dh is ahead of schedule which is great! he's a bit aggravated though since he cant go farther yet. next week he only has one day of PT (wed) and then another evaluation.
the funny thing is the Comp insurance company! they've called to see if there is any light duty work he could do at the shop... um NOOOOOOO! they even called the shop to see if there was! they basically shook their head at them. goofballs. even the dr isnt letting him even think of work til 9-29!

hmmm... trying to think of anything else...

OH Sarina is 4 months old today!!! I was told today "she's so big!" LMBO! what a change from a month ago!! LOL!! still need to get pics of her today.

so G's rash is back as bad as ever as of this afternoon. he's not eaten anything all day til this evening when he had a few crackers. otherwise he's just been taking in juice. he did play for a bit tonight, but is already laying down resting on the couch. I just HATE that I cant fix it! is the rash just from the germ in his body? is it something worse? what???!
plus H started in w/ the fever today and got sick once this evening. ugh, I hate sickness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
H has no rash tho, nobody else does.

Gavin and I worked on his homework tonight. man, he had a lot! we got him caught up tho. also found he gets free lunch/breakfast!!  I've been making his lunch to take since school started, but C and K have been buying their lunch, which is $2 a day. I'm expecting them to get their statements saying they'll get free lunch as well, hopefully before this week is out. that'll help a TON on saving money right now!

well, S is getting fussy and I've gotta change a diaper she just messed up. BBL!

so another update.

yesterday after Garrett woke from his nap, he had a fever! aha! remember he hadnt when we were at the dr's office either, so it was just an onset thing. some tylenol and he cooled up and totally seemed normal the rest of the night. ate some of his dinner (chili dogs/hot dogs) and went to bed fine.
well, about midnight dh said he was calling out for me so he went in to check on him and he said he was hot and dh brought him out to the couch to sleep and give him some mroe tylenol. (I slightly remember him asking if he could get another dose at that time). a couple hours later, Garrett woke up getting sick all over the couch.
can I say that hotdogs are NASTY when puked up??? ugh!!! so my super sensitive mommy hearing heard when he was happening and I woke up and came in to check on him and dh. waht a mess. :P he was hot still and a little crying mess poor guy (Garrett, not dh).
dh took the couch coushins outside while I sat with G and got his dirty pjs off and got him wiped down.
after getting a clean spot on the couch, towels laid down too, we brought him back in, only to have him get sick again. so back to the bathroom and another towel tossed outside.
after that, Sarina was waking up and fussing, so I had to go to her since dh cant do anythign with her when she's hungry.
so I went back to bed adn dh stayed up with Garrett. I told him to watch him for at least 20 minutes cause that's how it usually cycles.
I prayed hard for him when I got back in bed, along with prayers for the rest of the house that this stuff would be gone from here!
dh got G back to bed about 30 minutes later (G never got sick again!) and they slept through the rest of the morning.

kids got off to school fine today.

after G woke, I gave him more tylenol and a new dose of benedryl. the spots/welts are mostly gone, just a few places from the worst areas are left now. so I'm thinking that he picked up whatever C had on Sunday (he was just a bit achy/tired and didnt feel good) and it just effected Garrett totally different. I'm thinking the rash was it showing up and hte fever/sickies are the ending. I'll keep him on the tylenol/benedryl as needed til its all gone and just go from there. the timing would be right cause the rash started Sunday afternoon, about a day after C started feeling puny.

G is napping on the couch now. he's had some juice today (watered down and only about a 1/2 cup each time) but he's kept it all down. he was super whiney this morning and I pretty much kept him in the bathroom since he'd not tell me what was wrong, but he did fine.
it does look like he has a bug bite on the top of his foot? it was scratching at it this morning and it got red and a bit swollen so I cleaned it up and put anti-itching cream on it and he stopped messing with it. it could also just be a left over welt that he decided to mess with and it got to bothering him. ??
that boy keeps me on my toes!

OMGOSH! Sarina just rolled onto her belly!!!! how cool!!!! and she's so proud of herself!

my goodness its been a long day, but its been good.
I was up at 4:30 this morning to start the day (woke to pee and would have to be up by 5, so just stayed awake and nursed Sarina). we were out of here before 6, C and K already waking up from the noise.
made it fine to the doc office. we actually beat the staff into the lobby and had to wait for them to get in the boys enjoyed having the office to themselves though cause they could get a bit rowdy and not get in trouble.
Gavin checked out perfectly! he IS at 20/20 even from his surgeon's check, so he's been released from Vandy and next year before school can see his regular optometrist before school. Doc also said that if after a couple or so yearly checks, things are still great, we can even start skipping some yearly check ups! that's such awesome news!

so left there and went to dh's work so he could stop in and see them. the kids and I ended up waiting in the car for an hour men. at least Sarina was sleeping and Garrett was easily appeased with a cup of juice.

when we finally got to leave there, we headed up to teh ped's office. they got us in at good time and was basically told what I already knew. they dont know the reason for the rash. the NP said he had a red throat so she did a swab, JIC, but it came back fine. no fever, no ear problems, no respiratory problems, nothing. we went over foods he'd eaten, changing of the linens, new clothes washed, etc. nothing new or unexpected came up. *sigh* so I'm to just keep him on Benedryl every 6 hrs til it clears up and then continue for a couple days afterwards.
his legs actually look worse today than they had, but his back looks almost clear. so its not staying in the same places, its moving around. took this pic from the doc's office while we were waiting. both thighs basically look the same and he has welts all over his arms and a few on his face/ears and he has them on his front torso:

he woke up much better today, still a few raised places on his lower buttocks (funny word), but then after his nap again he had more! so I'm going to change his pillow case, I just put it on there a couple nights ago, though dont know what about it would cause him to break out like this.
I told dh that I'd like to stop by the peds office after gavin's doc appt tomorrow to have a quick check if he still has signs of it.
dh's PT went really well! he's at 75% mobility, but they wont let him go farther w/o the doc's consent, so wednesday when he goes in, he gets to see the doc again.
as I said, gavin's eye appt is tomorrow, I think this is his last follow up to surgery. we'll drop him off at school when we get back in town (to which he said "what?!")

my mom hurt her back by falling on the steps down their back porch sunday evening, so she's hurting. went to our chiropractor today and will go back tomorrow at 2:30, but she's still keeping Hunter at her house for us tonight so we can take the Ford instead of teh Suburban tomorrow.

I got a ton of stuff done today, though the day seemed to fly by! its amazing how much a person can get done when kids are at school! I'm totally impressed by it! LOL

Sarina was wanting to play at 4:30 this morning. *yawn* due to the fact she slept way too much before bed. will try not to repeat that one tonight! we have to get up early cause the appt is at 8 am and we'll be beating Nashville traffic!

hmmm... I'm sure there's more... we had a good weekend, mostly just hanging out family-like. oh, got to try our pickles teh first time today and YUM, they're good!!!

the kids still like school! its' funny how excited I get when I know its time for the bus to bring them home. but its nice that they can get the work from somewhere else and I can just help with teh homework. takes such a big load off me with just Hunter to work with! he got to play on some phonics software today since I've yet to actually organize his curriculum.

ok, must go, Sarina is getting tired and I still need to shower. I'll try to catch up thsi week!

no swimming. its slightly raised but not itching (at least he's not bothered any of it), the blotches aren't warm to the touch either. no fever or anything and no change of habits of any kind.
I talked to the ped and he said it sounded like hives as an allergic reaction to something, but we just dont know what cause nothing new has been introduced. just weird!
I'm giving him benedryl to see if it helps and the doc said I can bring him in at any time, so I guess we'll see how he is in the morning. :P (I hate it when kids throw something so off the wall into the mix LOL)

Garrett woke up with this from his nap this afternoon and we're confused as to what's caused it. no fever, sneezing, coughing, itching, sickness of any kind, normal eating/drinking habits, nothing new to the diet or wash.

morning! guess what? school's cancelled today! we were waiting and waiting and waiting for the bus and at 20 after 7 I called and was told the water was out in the school (middle school?) and so no school today. said they didnt know til people started arriving at school this morning. totally messes up my day plans LOL!
so Gavin says "I'm free!" so the kids are settling in for a normal day today and daddy and I will flip our plans around to accomodate. ;)

yesterday went really well for them. I have pics to share too of course and they were all smiles getting off the bus. the only thing that seems confusing is what in the world Gavin did with his whole box of 24 pencils! course they each have his name on them, so they'll be easy to spot wherever they are, but still.

and I got a ton of stuff done yesterday!
cleaned the boys closet
cleaned the kitchen
sorted clothes
time on here

plus dh left about 12 for PT so it was just the 3 youngest and I. went really well!

already have the dishes going today and folded laundry taht was in the dryer. need to do a load of boys clothes and get them to clean their bathroom. Sarina just woke up (she was only up to eat twice last night after goign to bed at 9. 1 and 5am)

pics will be next!

oh, we DID get our mail yesterday! when I'd talked to the postmaster, she was totally on my side and I could tell she'd been upset with the mail carrier. someone got in trouble!!!

we found our mail! its been taken to our neighbors who live before us.  how HARD is it to read the BIG numbers we have on BOTH sides of our mailbox??? I mean REALLY!! so I went down today and painted them on the door of the mailbox and painted our name on the side the mail carrier sees. I think we have a moron for a driver now. great.

the 'get the kids to school' morning went great, though I'm really wishing I could see what they were all doing right now. poor K was so excited, she woke at 4:30 this morning! LOL! she's going to be so tired by thsi evening! they dont catch the bus til 6:50 and they were all out there by 6:40.
I'm eager to hear how today goes for all of them

dh is off mowing the yard at FIL's house so its just the youngest 3 and me here.

I've already gone through the boys toybox and gotten a bunch of stuff out to take to a new preschool teacher at church. figured someone can use it and it's not me!

oh, and wanna talk about a growth spurt? with all the eating Sarina's been doing thsi last week (she finally slept normally last night, so I think we're through it) she's now up to at least 13.5 lbs and 26" long! when she went in a couple weeks ago for her WIC check she was just 12.8 and 24.5" (or maybe 24.25"), so that's a huge jump! LOL! still well behind the other kids in the weight dept right now, but has caught up on length almost.

her fav activities these day? doing the curly shuffle on the floor (going round and round in circles), trying to roll T-B, chewing on all her clothes she can get to her mouth, including her hands and stuff and any toys she grabs, getting a little handfull of hair on the crown of her head, laughing out loud to any tummy tickles and knee tickles,'standing' with help as much as possible and 'talking' to us.

logging on late right now. I actually got on here a couple hours ago, but forgot in all the goings on and just got back
my dad came in today and met us all in the city and took us to the mall to do some shopping for the school kids! gavin got two new shirts from Gymboree (a polo and a button down) and Sarina got a 2 pack of lamb socks :D
he got gavin and hunter gameboy games (2 for $10), C a PSP game he's been wanting for a long time too (said he didnt want any shorts and stuff) and K got a new shirt and a zip up hoodie for fall and a pair of sketchers sandals on sale. everything was on sale that we got. *woo!*
I also found myself a shirt on sale at JCP, but got the wrong size so will ahve to take it back. :P
then he took us to ryan's for lunch soooooooo full! LOL!
soccer was cancelled for today cause of the heat, so we all came to the house to hang out. C went to his cousin's birthday tonight and I worked on paperwork for K to take back to school tomorrow.
plus making sure everyone has their school supplies sorted, clothes picked out, gavin a haircut.
its been hectic today, really!
garrett has been a pill ALL day. I was SO glad to see bedtime (or close enough to it) come around and put his butt to bed!
last night was good for the open house as well. K has friends in all her classes except one (and I expect her to make some there ) and her homeroom teacher is really nice (since she worked with K to get her a top locker like she wanted).
C likes his teachers too and dh really likes his history teacher since he's a hands-on type teacher. (dh loves history)

tomorrow morning will be hectic getting everyone off to school. it'll be quiet here too after they head off. plus dh will be leaving about lunch to go to PT (gosh, gotta update that one too!). I never did get the pickling stuff, so dont guess any pickles tomorrow unless dh picks up the stuff for me when he's in town.

dh's PT: it went great! he was actually able to do more than they had hoped! he was only supposed to have 10% mobility and he has 30% they're more than pleased (and very surprised)

oh, dad brought my new printer today too and I'm so wanting to try it out! nothing to print yet though. I'm sure I can find something soon though!

another oh, we've not gotten any mail since friday here. :hmmm: we have a new postal carrier so I think they're goofing up somewhere since we *may* go one day without mail, but 3? no! I've already talked to the postmaster and will call back in the morning since no mail was delivered today either. dh's check will be coming in either tomorrow or thursday and I want to knwo it'll be in our box!!!!

ok, I think that's all that's gone on here... I think. LOL!
I'll try to pop on tomorrow after things calm down.

just hanging out right now. ms S wanted to eat all night again. I guess this is how she ups my supply
she took a shower with me last night! it was her usual cranky 'I'm ready for bed now' time and I'd not gotten my shower yet, so I put her in the mesh pouch and in we went. she loved it! not that I want to do that every night, but she'll get a bath more often that way and it'll keep her from being so cranky sometimes. she reminds me of Canaan with how much she loves the water. :)

went and picked up K and C at moms this morning (they stayed with her after going to church last night) and C helped dh mow the yard and K helped me clean up the house. I carried S in the MT while I worked, she konked out on me. she's big enough now that I can put her legs out to the sides. all you see is the top if a little red head and two slightly plump calves sticking out. ^_^

dh has his first PT today at 3:30. we're hoping he'll be back in time to make at least some of the open house with us (it doesnt start til 5:30, but we dont know hwo long he'll be in PT yet)

got a bunch of great pics yesterday of everyone while we were playing outside. it was rainging a bit so it cooled down and we got out to play and dh fixed my truck. it took a while though cause the battery was pretty drained from sitting for 2 days with a dieing alternator, so it had to take some loving and convincing before it finally started keeping charged and even idle.

Sarina had a meltdown last night casue she was ready for bed earlier than expected (8:30-9) and I wasnt ready. daddy got her calmed/sleeping while I showered though and when she started to wake back up, we climbed in bed real quick and slept. she was up every 2 hrs to eat last night though and I'm having to fix her at least one bottle a day right now. sounds like a definite growth spurt, it juts takes my body longer to catch up with making what she needs. I could have fed her every hour yesterday and it not be enough.
also the thrush is flared up on her. gave her some more drops today and medicating myself. it could be why she's so grouchy right now.

lots of rain this morning (woo!) and the kids have soccer practice today (g at 4, k and c at 5) and gavin's open house is at 5:30. he's excited to say the least! they go to school on 8-6, so next week it'll be a whole new routine!! I hope it all goes smoothly.

sorry for typos but I'm wearing my wrist brace today. I thnk I've slept on it wrong for a couple of nights and I can barely pick up any weight with it right now.  it hurts in the same places as teh carpal tunnel. :P stupid stuff.

I'm still kinda blah, but I think its mostly over self-image right now. I really need to lose weight and I dont like myself as I look right now. it makes me sad. *sigh*

been working on cleaning up the house today, laundry, cat boxes, kitchen floor/counters. still need to vac the house. I hate how it gets so dirty so quick. really need to dust.

dh's appt went well today! he got the staples out of his leg (14 in all) and can shower without having it covered now. he still has to wear his full brace, but got a new one that he'll get to start wearing when he starts on physical therapy that has degree of angles that it will let the leg bend (pretty neat!). he'll talk with the comp nurse tomorrow about his PT and where he'll get to take it. he wants to go to the dr's office that did the surgery (which would make the most sense) and try to get it for M/W so that it wont coincide with the soccer schedule on T/Th.
he's totally off work for at least the next 4 weeks by dr. orders and after that he *may* get to go back part time. BUT I asked him how that'd effect the comp check he gets. there's no way we could survive on PT $ if they totally cut teh comp check out. so he'll have to ask about that one.
the dr was very happy with the healing in his knee though, says it looks great!

I'd planned on going in town today to put a reimbursement check in and get some gas (3.49 here!), mail a package and take some movies back before going to gavin's soccer practice (which was all called off cause of the heat), but I got everyone in the truck to find it was totally dead. :P
I called dh (still in Hendersonville) and he'd not be home for about another couple hours, so was going to walk me through jumping the truck.
well, I pulled the pickup truck up to mine and popped the hood, climbed into teh back to get the jumper cables... no more than got to the front side of teh truck when *WHAM*! Garrett runs into the tailgate of the pickup. he gashed his eyebrow.
so after taking him in to do some ER work, called dh to say nevermind, I'm not going anywhere. I figure it took 30 minutes to find Garrett's shoes, truck was dead, then a bloody head= I dont NEED to go anywhere!

Garrett is fine, a nice little pumpknot on his brow with about a 1/4" scab. dh thinks the alternator is going out in the truck though. it did start for him tonight, but it's like it was fighting to hold a charge, so he's going to take the alternator off and take it in town tomorrow to have it checked. hopefully it wont be *too* much.

Sarina has been fussy today, wanting to eat a lot and just not nap like her usual self. growth spit? who knows. weighing her today she was 12.10 lbs.
oh, the WIC nurse let me get her on the Good Start with natural cultures brand. she only gets *maybe* 4 oz a day, some days its all BF, but we're hoping this formula will help with the thrush that tends to want to stick around.
I also need to get a new supply of the acidophilous/garlic since that's what I've been taking all month and I'm about out. dont want to quit that if its helping to keep that stuff at bay!

ok, guess taht's it, gotta go entertain Sarina some more, Katlyn has her, but she's being fussy. if she'd sleep a bit I knwo she'd be happier. its close to bedtime though, so not much longer any way.

Sunday, July 27, 2008

so have I mentioned that Garrett is sleeping full time in the boys room now? he started that last week. a must have situation! he was clmibing out of the crib and sneaking into stuff in sissy's room. definitely not safe. so cold turkey he had to get out! the first couple nights were hard cause he thought it was a game and kept coming out laughing, then daddy got tired of it and he learned to stay in bed. now its no problem at all and everyone sleeps all night. (well, Sarina wakes me up, but YKWIM)
so I was able to set the crib up all girly like with the mobile back on and have her cute stuffies in there. she doesnt sleep in the crib, so its just decor to please Katlyn for now.

hmmm... OH, been working on my knitting this week again. almost have my diaper bag done (as far as both sides and handles). still need to stitch it together when I finish the 2nd handle and start on the ribbed pockets for both ends, then sew up the lining for it. took pics of what I have so far and will post those next time I upload pics.

have I mentioned that Sarina likes her tummy time? she really does! doesnt mind being on her back either, pretty easy going with all that. she's floor playing right now beside me, looking at her littel farm blanket.
she's gotten really good at grasping things and bringing them to her to chew on. no passing toys back and forth hand to hand yet though.

our nursing has really improved this last month as well! maybe that's why she chunked up that bit on me. she doesnt take as long either, getting with it and drinking instead of constantly falling asleep! she's still a little punkin, but she does have small fat rolls on her now (mostly the crease in her inner thighs and the little rolls around her neck LOL). I really need to start pulling out the 0-3m stuff. she can still wear it, but its on the 'getting snug' end. I'm sort of avoiding it though, silly me!

the oldest 3 went to church with my mom tonight. C gets to play the drums at night and K and G have a 'back to school bash' in their class. this morning C was playing drums with Mr. Willis (who was on piano) after sunday school/before singing. he did a great job and it was cool seeing him up there doing what he loves! he said he was nervous, but he did great! I got a pic with my phone I'll share later.

I fixed mushroom and swiss burgers for dh and I and regular burgers for the kids for lunch today. I've not followed a Rachel Ray recipe to the tee, but it gives me great ideas to work with and make some tasty meals! which is a good thing cause we have no extra $ this week, so we'll be eating at home! :P (I do get bored with that).
I get aggravated too casue there's stuff I want to do (like mail a few packages and try to pay on my first small bill to snowball) but cant seem to with the $ right now. we just keep chugging along. it'll be ok.

Friday, July 25, 2008

yesterday was good, I never got on here I dont think. our WC check came early, so I got the banking done yesterday and the grocery getting (makes me feel like today is saturday of course LOL).
I stopped at a yard sale on the way home and scored big time on stuff for Garrett for thsi fall/winter! she was selling her barely used Gymbo sets for $2 each, so I grabbed them all 3. 2 sets are with matching overalls/shirts and the other is jeans/button up shirt. so cute! and of course I can resell and easily get my money back.

I had to take Garrett and Sarina to the health dept for our WIC update (C and K went with me) and Garrett is 30.5 lbs and 34" and Sarina is 12.8 lbs and 24.25" (I think she said 1/4" and not 1/2"). so seems little Miss is gaining a bit faster than she was the first 3 months now. she used to do 4 oz a week and she was just weighed on the 15th there and was 12 lbs. I told her she better not gain/grow too big too fast on me though cause I'm enjoying her too much as my tiny tot!

last night a teacher from church called to say she was wanting to bring some stuff over. I figured it may be some hand me downs for the kids, plus she mentioned a backpack for Gavin. turns out she'd bought new clothes (2 pcs each) for each of the kids! how awesome was that?! totally surprised me! all the clothes fit too (she did better than my mom at guessing sizes) the only one I need to take back is what she got for Sarina cause it was 9m size summer stuff and I just dont see that happening. one I'm keeping cause its a Polo style dress, so we can put tights under that with a sweater, but the other is the bubble type romper, so I'm going to get a 6m (or 3-6m, whatever they've got) to replace it.
I felt so blessed and the kids have some new school clothes!

today K is at a friends house for a bit and my mom is going to pick up the boys soon to go play with Landon at her house.

I finally got Gavin signed up today. was going to yesterday, but they werent taking them for some reason. so everyone is set to go to school.

garrett is picking up more vocab and quirks. the other day he was sitting next to me here when he farted and then said "Moooooom!" LOL already blaming his stink on someone else!! he's also telling on the siblings too.

trying to find an exersaucer for S.

finally an update

seems I've forgotten to put updates in here. things have been more than hectic lately. dh had knee surgery on July 14th in the evening. he had to stay overnight and did really well. the surgery was about 2.5 hrs long cause there was more damage than was hoped for plus it'd started healing already and had to be 'taken apart' to refix. :P
he's doing well now, getting around with his crutches and sometimes without, though he always has the leg brace on. he's not allowed to bend his knee at all, nor can he get the knee wet (as in any water, sweat or anything), so he has to stay cool, which means no outside activity.
that kind of stuff is driving him batty. :)
he goes back on the 29th for his post-op and we'll hopefully get the ok to start working with the leg and they may take the staples out. still a long recovery to go through.
K is signed up in school now and should get her schedule some time in the next few days. C got his today. I should get Gavin's paperwork in tomorrow for him to be signed up. they're all looking forward to it! school starts 8-6 here.
the oldest 3 are all playing soccer this year. luckily the practice times are at the same time, so that works really well.
Sarina is 3 months old and about 12.5 lbs now

isn't she a cutie!!! :D

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

C is getting very grown up looking! he and Katlyn are getting in that 'almost adult looking' stage. *sniff*
and speaking of Canaan, I measured him yesterday at his request and that boy grew an inch in a month! he's now 5' 7 1/2" tall! not even 13 yet and yes, he looks down at me easily. he's wearing a size 12 shoes! big foot!  LOL!
and I took Sarina by the health dept yesterday and she's 11.8 lbs and 23 3/4" tall. (their scale is 5 oz heavier than the dr office, so I put that for her 3m stats since it usually takes her a week+ to gain 5 oz. ). she can still comfortably wear her NB cloth dipes and covers though, even in her 0-3m clothes. LOL, long and skinny thing she is.
she's also LAUGHING now! its SO cute! I LOVE when babies first start laughing! she just babbles to whomever is looking at her and will get so tickled *awwwww!* I just love her smile too, so precious!!

went to pizza hut for lunch today (more bookit coupons WOO!) and we got there towards the end of the buffet, so when we left, I asked what they were going to do with the leftover pizza (3 of which had just been put out) and they let us have it all!
hmmm... I wonder what's for dinner?
dh finally gets to go see a sports/joint dr on friday! took long enough, but he's finally going! we'll find out how soon they can do surgery for him then and exactly what happened to his knee. he's getting very tired of crutches (he'll walk short distances without them if he's wearing his leg brace-cant do it without the brace).

Garrett cut his head the other night while outside. not sure what he did cause I was inside with S, but everyone else was out there. they think he tossed up a couple of sticks he was playing with and one got him on the head. it cut a good gash on the top of his head, about 1/4" long! his head was dripping blood down the back and everything. scary stuff! it did stop fairly quick with applying pressure though and I gave him tylenol that night JIC.

found there's no disability on our home loan, but at least the WC will be enough to cover it (granted with not much left over at all, but it'll at least cover it, right?) still need to check on the car loan and the 2nd mortgage acct.

today I finally got the checkbook balanced with the $ we deposited yesterday and am able to pay the car payment and 2nd mortgage (both late of course, I hate late charges!) and got teh water bill taken care of. once the WC check finally arrives (um, today would be NICE!) we'll go ahead and make this months house payment and catch up on the other stuff we're behind on. :P geez, hard as heck to get caught up once things get behind.
I must say though that I feel very blessed cause all of our needs have been met while this stuff is going on. its been tight, very-very tight, but we've made it through. thank God!

oh, and for those wondering what Hunter finally got for his bday! dh got him and gavin Hulk figures yesterday. I also have him a spongebob cup (one with the tops and straws like you can buy at walmart... though I found it at cares for .50) and a Venom figure which he's been wanting (they have a lot of spidey figures, so I guess they need a bad guy to beat up on ). he keeps waking up and asking if its still his birthday since he's been getting gifts almost every day like this (moms gift on sunday, brownies that night, cake on monday, gifts on tuesday...)

ok, guess that's about it that I can think of. :D

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

well, we never heard from the comp lady today. dh started calling at 7 this morning and we never got anything but voice mail. irritates me to no end! dh even called the shop to ask if they had a different number but the one we have is all they have. guess we just have to wait til they get back to us. :P
so I still cant get OL til after 5pm *grrr*

gavin got his call from his coach today and his first practice is next thursday. he's very excited about it!

stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down to 166.5! (down almost another 4 lbs) wow! I've been eating like a pig so it must all be going to nursing. LOL!

oh, while dh was talking to the shop secretary, she told him the little bit of his last check was deposited today, so it's a bit over $100, but it'll give us gas $ til the first comp check comes next week. *whew* I was worried about that part!

so I guess that's it as far as new news goes here. not very exciting (which I'll take! LOL)
oh, I did call my local magistrate to voice my opinion about getting broadband in the county today!

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

no stimulus check today. *pout* but hopefully it'll be here at some point this week... I can be positive, right?

and I likely wont be on during the first part of the day much for now. I was on *trying* to upload pics this morning when the comp lady called about an appt for dh, so I got the info and gave it to him and we've not been able to get back hold of her all day! it all goes to voicemail. its really aggravating too! dh even gave her his cell # yesterday but she never called that. so we'll have to wait for her to call in the morning or TRY calling her again so he can get that appt set up! (its for July 9th) and I told him when he talks to her again to tell her to call his cell cause he always has it on him and it has call waiting in case he's on the phone (our land line doesnt, just have that callwave thing).
so maybe he'll get to see the dr next week. hopefully the two appts she had arent filled up by the time we get to talk to her again. :P
dh fell this morning. he was getting up this morning and his foot slipped out from under him and down he went. scared the CRAP out of me! poor Gavin was scared too cause he was there helping him by handing him his crutches. he hurt his finger a little, but I believe it was mostly pride that was injured. still freaked me out though cause its like seeing how much he cant do when he's always been able to do. :(

I got in town to get some diapers, sugar and alcohol this afternoon. had to buy a 10 lb bag of sugar since dh is here, we're going through a LOT more tea than usual. (2-3 gallons a day). while out, I stopped at captain d's to borrow the wifi, but it wouldnt let me do any post-data so I couldnt upload pics or post here. lot of good it did me. :P but Sarina and I had some quiet time cause it was past the lunch rush.

got pics to share, need to get a new one of dh's knee, its all yellowing up from the bruising. the bruising goes from about 6" below his knee to half way up his thigh and bands around the back. ugly looking. LOL

oh, and can I say that the daily routine of the kids and I will be totally disrupted the whole time daddy's home?  awful to say yes, but nothing will go like normal weekday time for now. LOL!
there are good things though, with soccer starting up, dh will be able to stay here with Hunter and Garrett while I do the soccer running! I was worried before over who would watch them (especially Garrett), but now I have a built in babysitter! LMBO!

also thinking we'll be doing Hunter's bday cake and stuff, maybe Monday next week. with C's team going to district, C and dh will be gone almost all this coming weekend for that. and since dh wont be going anywhere else after that, he'll be stuck at home so we can do cake and stuff during the day! he's not told me what kind of cake to decorate, but he's really into spiderman and hulk still, so I may do that... hmm... never done a hulk cake before, that could be fun!

Monday, June 30, 2008

we got good news on the WComp! what they send weekly will be like him making a few hours OT, so we'll be able to stay on top of things! the bad news is that the first check wont be here til about tuesday next week. I think we have about $40 for the week, which wouldnt be bad if we didnt need to go anywhere, KWIM? hopefully we can do most trips in the Escape since it gets better mileage and we'll get thru the rest of the week.
waiting to hear back from the car loan and house loan on whether they have disability on the loans.
oh, in other good news, we got our letter about our stimulus check today! it'll be here soon! maybe it'll be here tomorrow and take care of this week.

in other things, I'm PP shedding like crazy. figure the shower drain will clog soon. *blush*

weighed Sarina the other day and I think she's about 10.10 lbs now :)

G is still working on pt'ing. we had a couple days where he just stuck to diapers again, but we're back to trying now. I'm glad I'm almost done w/ pt'ing totally. LOL

Sunday, June 29, 2008

in good news, C's team won last nights game too, so they go to district on 7-4!!!! (didn't think it was regional or state, but I couldn't think of the right word before). they're playing again tonight against a neighboring team, but whether they win or lose they still go to district (though I really hope they beat them cause they've lost against them every time in the previous years!) C also hit two homeruns yesterday, so proud of him!

we should find out tomorrow who will be doing dh's surgery. hopefully when as well. its hard to imagine that he's going to be here at home till at least some time in august! he told me the first day that I'll probably be ready to boot him out of the house. I told him as long as he doesn't get all grouchy then I wont. ;)

I'm hoping for good news on the workman's comp. he was told they go back over a year's wages and average that out and that's what he'll be getting for the time he's off, and sent weekly since that's how we're set up on paying bills. I thought they'd just base it on a 40 hr week and that was going to be hard on us, but if its an average over the past year, that *should* be a bit better. we should know tomorrow I think.

the hardest thing is the kids. I don't think they really *get it* yet, KWIM? they know daddy is hurt and the older kids know he's going to be home for a while, but they don't really see the big picture of course. they keep asking 'can we go here to eat' 'can we go rent more movies' (rented 6 movies for $1.50 the other day!), 'can we go to the city again' and stuff. my biggest thing is Hunter's birthday is on the 6th and I don't know what I can get him! I'll probably have to go to the CARES center to find something. sucks, but I had to do that for Garrett as well. *sigh* I feel like a bad mom for that sometimes.

anyway, don't want to end this on a sad note. in other good news, Sarina laughed out loud for me yesterday morning for the first time! :)
at church this morning the ladies were making over her and how tiny she is. LOL.

this one here has a special story!
back when I first got pg with Garrett, I had a dream of a baby girl playing on the floor with Hunter by her. it was so real to me that I drew a pic of it when I woke up (it was a Sunday morning) and here is that pic I drew:

and this is a pic I took yesterday! as soon as I snapped it, I had a flashback of this pic and I went to hunt it down.

here is dh's comparison of his knees from last night. the thigh muscle on his right leg isnt attached to anything but a broken knee cap, so he cant pick his leg up by himself (though he can wiggle his foot. weird how that works)

Thursday, June 26, 2008

dh is on his way home, the guy he carpooled w/ picked him up at the hospital, I figure he'll be home anytime. he's in an immobility splint (?) for the weekend to help the swelling go down and monday he goes to see the dr again to get a date for surgery. yep, not anything that will heal on its own, but is at least fixable. the dr told him that when he injured it originally a few weeks ago was the starting point and he caught it just right today and it snapped (broke?). he said there's a big space at the top of his leg where the muscles join before the knee bends. messed up.
he also has to go back to nashville tomorrow for more testing for workmans comp. he's also being stubborn and saying he'll drive himself. anyone that knows robert personally knows how typical this is. lol
my mom said she can drive him tho (I've got a ton of paperwork/leg work to do as well, before 3pm when C meets up w/ his team to go to their first game). it'll be a busy day/weekend.

all this is still processing. I'm very glad he got a good check this week to help out.

thank you all again for your prayers!

ISO: prayers

need some big prayers today.
talked to dh at lunch and he basically broke his knee today. he cant walk and is at the hospital right now finding out the extent of the damage. he of course is the sole income and we're already dealing w/ unpaid bills cause $ was so short the past few months.
I guess the only good part is that it'll fall under workman's comp, so that'll be a bit of income and I'm going tomorrow to make the house payment (for June). I'm just a bit (like a whole lot) freaked out and praying hard that things will be ok.
we do have accident ins (not for cars, for injury) so that will also help. I'll be making those calls tomorrow plus stopping in to see about food assistance. I hate it, but theres only so many weeks you can feed a family of 8 for about $50 like I've been doing lately.
I hate talking all this stuff but I've broken down a few times today thinking about all this.
I'm waiting for dh to call me back w/ news. right now I dont know if he'll have to stay overnight or what.
my mom has assured me she's here to help however she can. dont know what I'd do w/o that!
... guess I'll journal hop while S finishes nursing.

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

just put G down for a nap, pt'ing is not going so well today. :P
S is napping too, put her in my bed to see how she naps there for me.
got my refill of diflucan called in yesterday afternoon so the next time I'm in town I'll pick that up. already started the genisan violet (sp?!) for both of us. I know my right bb has thrush cause its tender, started last night. hate that! S has nursed today, not without fussing though. she slept well last night, sleeping til 3:30 then til 5. but I couldnt go back to sleep after the 3:30 wake up. so I'm quite tired today.

I'm making a PB bread recipe right now in the bread machine. I'm just doing the dough and will take it out to rise (hoping it does!) to see if we get a better loaf this time.

C's team won their scrimmage last night 15-6, so they got out of practice this morning.
got some cute pics again (thought of posting one of G butt naked, but decided not)
I made a new sling for S this past week (first time to get to my sewing machine since before she was born!) not sure what you call this material, but its lightweight like the solarveil stuff I've seen other ladies use.  she was quite content yesterday in it

then today with K's baby dolls. (got the idea from Theresa) the first baby doll is a 'newborn' size and the second is a '3 month size' LMBO!

ignore the purple all over her. :P (oh, K dug out one of her preemie shirts to put on her today LOL!)
