3-17-09

I've been spoiled the last few mornings with S sleeping in so well. gosh, its goign to break my heart when she has a bad night.
our weather was GORGEOUS today I love this weather!
tomorrow is my next chiro appt plus I need to make a stop at hobby lobby and the mighty dollar.
thursday after school, C's band is trying out for the talent show. I plan on going, hoping my mom can go with me to wrangle kids. they're playing "Gotta Be Somebody" by nickelback. wish them luck!
Gavin had a 'bad' day cause some twerp kid stole both of his backugan's out of his backpack. I could tell he was upset when he got in the truck today and when I asked him what was wrong he broke down crying. my poor little man, having to learn that not everyone is nice.
K and H both had upset tummies today. ugh, i do not want another bug in the house!

16 weeks and Gavin lost a tooth!

I swear I'm feeling SO big now a days. I really hate to complain, but gosh-a-mighty, I'm only on the verge of 16 weeks. I've got SO much more growing to do. I feel like I'm going to be gigantic before April! I'll just have to watch my eating (which BTW is getting harder cause sweets are now starting to sound so much better).

next appt is on Thursday! I *think* I've only gained 3 lbs for this month, which is normal. amazing though how those 3 lbs can make you feel so big. :P

I did realize the other day that my braxtons had started up. likely they've been going on for a while, I've just not paid attention. I did notice the other day though.

Gavin lost his third tooth last night! he has two more that are loose, but not enough to take out just yet. he was pretty upset when daddy was taking it out. daddy asked him what he was so upset about and G said "cause you want to take my tooth out" *sniff sniff* and daddy said "I've already got your tooth. see?" to which G was like 'wow!' and immediately ok. he woke up when C was up for school to check the 'tooth fairy dish' and found his money.

strange baby dream last night. it was a long drawn out one, but skipping to the main part: it was some sort of mystery dream (aka: who did it) and I was on the search for clues. found some paperwork of 'things to come' and it was a file on someone wanting to kidnap my baby girl. course I knew the information now (was still even pg) so I would know who to look for and be able to kick their butts before hand.
guess its cause I was watching CSI and Journeyman last night.
but there's another dream for Girl. not that it means anything with my history.

we had an exciting practice. my two middle children heartily 'entertained' me today.  the park had moved a set of bleachers to the side lines cause they're doing football games where we usually practice soccer at, so the boys kept getting on and off the bleachers (of course). I warned them about running on them and so they'd quit stomping them, running down them, etc. well eventually you konw we had to have an accident though and Hunter tripped and fell on his right ear. didnt do any damage, but it just hurts like heck, ya know? then later at almost the end of practice (and I thought I'd make it through w/o big excitement), G decides he's going to bounce up the first bleacher step, but misses and instead, plants his face into the 2nd bleacher seat. he busted his nose completely when he did it. by the time he got to me (right behind me about two steps) both sides were gushing down his face.  :-( I grabbed a baby wipe to cover it and apply pressure and in just a minute it was totally bloody. yuck. the 2nd wipe lasted longer and it'd stopped bleeding by the time I'd packed everything up and got to the van. daddy was there waiting for us to get done, so he looked at it for me to make sure nothing was broken. he also knocked his top left tooth more loose (he'd already been complaining of it the past couple weeks) so likely it'll be coming out soon.
as of bedtime I didnt notice any outside bruising, but of course his inner nasal chambers are swelled from the blow and its tender. he asked me to put a bandaid on his nostrils.
poor little guy. if its gonna be big bleeding, its usually him that does it.

we went to captain ds after that and after getting home and catching the last 15 minutes of survivor, dh headed to bed and me and the kids watched TMNT. cute movie, Gavin asked if we could keep it.

Garrett got to go outside today and he was very happy about that. I didnt let him out yesterday cause of his low fever when waking and wanting to make sure he was all better before he got out and played in the water. he was NOT happy yesterday seeing everyone else go out but him.

tomorrow being friday I think I'll try to hit a yard sale I seen in the paper. they're to have a bunch of baby stuff, including stuff and clothes. might see if I can find items I'll need if its at a good price. there wont be hardly any yard sales come march/april next year yet and I likely wont feel like hitting a lot anyway. it'll be worth taking a look at least. :-)

I thought my m/s might have been leaving, but I think its just downgrading some.  last night it hit in the evening and today its been hovering a little through the day. nothing as bad as it was weeks prior, but still there.
I'm also just as hungry as ever. joy. I'm hungry again now dang it and its bed time. just what I need to go to bed on. :P
also, my sense of smell has increased as the m/s decreased. guess that's a good thing though (considering the heightened sense of smell w/ the m/s could be doubly worse). course it makes me want to scrub the whole house cause everything seems to stink.
my motivation to clean comes back when? LOL!!

going to my moms soon. she's watching 3 of the kids for me today while I
take C to the ball game. I've gotta take the baby with me cause she's
got a room to move for my aunt who's going to be moving in for a while.
so at least it'll be easier with just Garrett than with all of them. K,G
and H were just as bad as little G yesterday, as in "are we done yet?"
"can we leave?" etc. so now its just the baby to take care of. it'll
still be hard cause its so hot out there and no shade unless the same
people bring that tent thingy and we can smush in a corner of it. wont
be home til around 7 (to get the kids).

in bad news, it looks like Gavin has some poison ivy again! its on his
right hand between his ring/middle finger and looks like big scratches
on his face under his right eye! he woke with it yesterday like that
(the scratches) and we thought he just scratched himself while asleep,
but now its getting little raised bumps on it. I really hate poison
ivy! ugh.

maybe playing in the pool at my moms will help to dry it up.

come on already!

poor Garrett has had diarrhea today as well, though not as often as he went yesterday, but still it is what it is none the less. he's eaten half way decently today and napped well for me too. I can tell he's just not feeling up to snuff though cause he's just not wanting to play much and when he does he's pretty quiet. :-( I want my well baby back! Canaan also had the same problem today as G. he's better now, but was NOT happy this morning.

in kitten news, I'm not sure if mama kitty will continue to care for him. he was fine this morning and nice and warm in the box (she'd moved him to the box she wanted originally) but she wouldnt go in the box with him all during the day to nurse. if I took him to her she would nurse him fine and clean him some, but she made no over effort to go to him. :-( not sure what we'll do. they're back in the barn tonight so we'll see how tomorrow goes. I really dont want to lose another kitten...

in great Gavin news, he taught himself how to ride without training wheels today! 8-) he's been practicing all week (the T-wheels have been on, just turned up so that they didn't keep him upright on the bike) and today Canaan took them off for him and he did great! I've got pics of course that I'll post later. I'm very proud of him and he of course is VERY proud of himself! :-)

couldn't get OL until tonight. my phone line was totally wonked out. if you picked up the phone, all you heard was an ear-splitting grinding type noise. its still crackly, but at least its usable. I'll be ever SO glad when they decide the area is worth upgrading the phone lines to new ones!

ok, guess that's about it. we do have ball practice tomorrow night. they have a game on Thursday. right now C's team is 5-3, so they're still in the running for first place again!

10 months

10 month recap of all my kiddos!

starting at the top
Canaan: 32 1/2", 26 lbs

Katlyn: 31 1/2", 22.7 lbs

Gavin: 32 3/4", 26.5 lbs

Hunter: 32", 25 lbs

Garrett: 31 3/4", 23 lbs

I think its neat to see that G is the lightest of all the boys so far. he's on the size scale of Katlyn, which is nice for my hip. LOL! plus he has her curly type hair, but more like Gavin's as his wasnt as curly as K's. he's also walking at 10 months which is what K did. I think that's cool. (not to mention they both had/have reflux issues and such).
and cant you tell from Hunter's pic that he was going to be a handfull?

Happy Birthday! that's awesome!!

we had a good day, nothing special happened really, just a good all around day. the kids didn't do much at all on school work mostly my fault for sleeping in late today, but we'll work on making up tomorrow.
my parents came over for dinner (baked chicken with rotini and cheese sauce, fried red taters, mac/cheese for the kids, green beans, meatballs and rolls). my mom brought me a gift over! its one of the Crayola cutters. its really cool but I'll have to practice with it. it'll be so neat for scrapping!

My little sister sent me a card today, but I didn't hear from my brother (which isn't surprising LOL ). FIL called, but he didn't remember my bday either (that is totally not surprising! LOL) and I didn't remind him. no biggie!

I'm hoping G sleeps well tonight. I'll be heading to the shower after this post. I am tired tonight, so gotta get my rest while I can.
I was getting tickled at him today though, he's getting more and more brave about letting go when standing. several times while he'd be standing at my legs, I'd feel him let go to like rub his eyes or something. don't know if he realizes he stands by himself though. he thinks its hilarious to stand out in front of me and I try to get him to walk to me.

he's getting insistent on feeding himself snack foods. his puffs must be fed by him or else he'll guide my hand to his mouth. he has to have his own spoon many times during feeding cause he'll try to hijack my spoon and then its a wrestle match to get it back. LOL!

a Gavin funny from today: he got all serious on me and asked me "mommy, who's baby were you?"
I said "mamaw's"
him: "MAMAW MADE YOU A BABY???"
:
me: "yes. and uncle John and Aunt Kimmy are also Mamaw's babies."
Gavin:

kids are SO dang funny!!!

and in some totally awesome news, I added up what we've paid off so far since we started our 'money makeover' in September and *drum roll please* our current paid-off total is $4885.92!!!!!!!!!!!! that is SO awesome feeling!!! amazing!!! it puts wind in my sails and a smile on my face! we've got a long way to go, probably a couple years worth, but man, what a great feeling to know we've done that much already!!!

funny stuff!

everyone is in bed, were actually in bed by 10:30, even Garrett with no fuss! so I'll head there myself soon. maybe I'll get some good rest tonight. last night wasn't bad, but I still need to make up for the night before.

got a couple of shops to do tomorrow morning. but I guess that's the biggest thing outside of here.

I have a funny of the kids from today:

we were at the table after lunch and Canaan was being a clown and trying to get me to laugh (yeah, it was working, but I was still getting aggravated cause he'd done been told to get back to his work), well, it all got fired up that K and Gavin would try to yank his shorts down (cause C had said they couldn't do it. ie: direct challenge LOL ) well, Gavin was right behind me, C was on the other side of me and K was on the far side of Canaan. Canaan in his 'just like daddy' frame of mind, moons Gavin and I!
Gavin lets out a high-pitched girlified scream and starts running off covering his eyes saying "THE HORROR!!! OH THE HORROR!!!" I was laughing so hard I was crying!!!! omgosh, that child is a riot!!
(and no, my kids don't go around mooning everyone or trying to yank on their shorts LOL )

hello world

we just got back in a bit ago. we went to pick up G2's free pics we had done at olan mills. they turned out so cute! I'll get a scan or pic to share later. gotta get him up on the wall with the other babies too! then we returned two bathroom sinks that didn't fit the holes in our countertops. that much less to pay on. dh will be taking the pool back in a bit. it has a split in the seams of the side and bottom sections and we found that they've had several returned for the same reason. wish he'd never gotten the thing in the first place, but that's a whole 'nother gripe.

the ladies at church today were awing over G2 today cause he was coo'ing, laughing and such with them. couldn't believe he was doing that already. I don't remember when the 'average' is, but I don't think he's advanced on it. he's been 'talking with me' for a while now and ya'll know its been since he was 2 weeks that he was smiling and not long after that he was laughing. maybe that means he'll be a laughing/happy kid?
oh, he blew a half raspberry at me yesterday. he thinks its funny when you raspberry at him and he copied me. LOL! too cute!

today was Gavin's first day in 'big Sunday school' and he loved it! he got a new kids study bible, a pack of candy and 100 points to use in the kids 'store'. Hunter was quite upset when he realized Gavin was going to another class. he cried for a while but his teacher said he finally got into class.

ok, G2 is fed up with vegging and he's trying to pooh, so gotta close this up. LOL

kids are at camp and dinner at moms

dinner at moms was wonderful! parmesan chicken w/ mashed taters and green beans! brought home a big portion for dh too cause he didnt get home til about 8:30 tonight. felt good to not worry about dinner.
I did pig on the mashed taters though, gosh, I love those things!

and thanks for the labor vibes. I sure hope they work! even if the kids dont make it back in time, I'd not complain one bit.
I'm feeling like I'm the last one to go again. which is rather silly cause there are lots of ladies still waiting in my p/g. but like robert said, even the last mommy cat gave birth to her kittens this past weekend! so around here, I'm the last one, again. dang, is that hard! part of me is rarin' to go and another part of me is like 'but its still quiet around here'. LOL!! oh well. its not a perpetual pg, so baby will come, just hopefully sooner than later!

and I have to say something on Gavin. LOL! he is SUCH a talker! which I knew this of course, but I think he saves most of his conversations for Katlyn cause they hang out together so much. well, with her gone, its all for momma! LMBO! that kid would keep yakkin' for hours if I dindt direct him to something! cracks me up!
a funny moment tonight at moms, papaw Gary was finishing up some mowing with the push mower and theirs is hard to pull/crank. at one point he bellowed "WELL!" adn then cranked and it started. Gavin, ever the listener (so he can repeat) told me "you gotta say WELL to make it go!" to which everything he needed to do (ie: getting the swings to swing) he'd holler "WELL!" mom and I were cracking up! and papaw got a tickle too. I told mom it was a good thing he didnt say something else!! LOL!!!

romping around

having dinner here at moms. pizza kits for pepperoni pizza and we have a quick and easy dinner!
mom kept the youngest three for me while C and I went up to check out the Toyota van. it sure was nice, but no go on getting it. it'll be at least another year. no biggie, we figured as much. but I at least got to see how the 8 seater sits and what kind of room is in it. I really like it and would like that to be the next vehicle we get.
we also stopped at B&N to see what was on special. they had extra discounts for teachers so we found a couple of farm books for the boys and C found a spy kit and a baseball book.
I wore my new 'baby on board' shirt today and got 2 compliments! both after hearing how much longer I had. the sales lady told me I "wear pg well' and another lady at the dealer got so tickled and said I "look so cute!" its so odd hearing compliments at this point, usually people are gasping and wondering how I'm walking.

I'm tired again today. Gavin has gotten in a habit of waking me when he gets up (usually about 7) and 'pssting' me to ask for poptarts or cereal bars til I wake up. he needs to quit that!!!! I'll be locking him in his room after the baby gets here! (hard to do when there's no locks on their doors LOL ). now watch, he's done this all week (well, he usually does this every day) and tomorrow being sunday and when we have to get up earlier, they'll ALL sleep late! little boogers.

Time Warp

*all links will go to bigger posts*

one year ago:3-2005
-Our kitty Callie passed away while we were at church this evening.

-I know some friends mean well and only want to say the best thing. I know they didnt mean to say something that actually hurt my feelings.
But, to say "at least I have four children at home" is not going to take away the hurt I feel.
Dont get me wrong! I have been thankful for each and every one of my children from the moment I found I was pregnant! Never would I be unthankful for them!
But it doesnt lessen the pain for the baby that I looked forward to holding in my arms. I still miss that soul.
But-
I am thankful that I was picked to be their momma.

-In my life I've never seen
A more precious sight than what could be
A life, given by the grace of God to hold.
And in my eyes you are to me
A tender, precious loving seed
That never had the chance to fully grow.
And while I cry for what was lost
I feel so blessed that I was chose
To be the Mom that you will someday know.
And so with the Angels you will grow,
But in my heart I'll always know
That my child, smiles upon me from above.
For loving seeds have tender hearts
And nothing on earth can take apart
What God has given us to know and love.

For my baby Gidget with love from Mommy 3-16-2005

two years ago: 3-2004
-another cute kid talk today: i got a pair of shorts out for gavin since it was nice (warm) out. when i brought them to him he looked quite offended and said "PANTIES??!!"
i was laughing like a nut!

three years ago: 3-2003
- Hunter loves the vacuum! if he's cranky all i have to do is plug it in and 'vrooooom'! he chases me everywhere while i'm vacuuming, yanking the cord, climbing up my legs, getting in front of me, smacking it, hollering at it. not to mention the older kids play a game of "its going to get us" through the whole house.
put in with that, Tilly, who runs like a bee's on her butt everytime i get in the same room as her with the thing, it makes vacuum time quite fun.

-hunters wearing a size 4-4.5 in shoes now. me thinks he'll have big feet like canaan at this rate. canaan's first pair of walking shoes at 9 months were a 5.5. katlyn and gavin were both wearing size 3-4 at one year old.

-hunter is now 23 lbs and 30" tall. he cruises, he pulls up, he screams for attention, has 6 teeth. did i mention he also makes julian fries?

-canaan got in his first ball practice today. he was ready to go at 8 this morning! waiting is such a hard thing on a kid

four years ago: 3-2002
-Tiny is doing great (still no names picked yet), he's getting into patterns of wakefulness during the day. he's usually most active first thing in the morning and around lunch and around bedtime. last night while i was reading to the kids he was having a blast in there! those little feet were all up around my ribs, out my belly and my sides, while his little fingers were tickling my cervix and probably punching my bladder. canaan got to feel him moving the other day and finally asked me "why is he moving mommy?" LOL! i thought that was cute. i of course explained to him that babies do move while in mommy's tummies, just like they do when they're born.

-tomorrow is driving to nashville day to pick up the paychecks. :p not my fav thing. i'ts right on the verge of a two hour drive there and back plus the traffic *ugh*
-weight:184, gained 6 lbs *eek!* for a total gain of 11 lbs so far BP: 115/66 (me and the nurse were talking. )
pee test was fine for everything, baby was sleeping so was easy to find on my right side snuggled up. i'm measuring "normal" right between 23-24 cm (whew!).

five years ago:3-2001
-Many good reasons to hate driving in Nashville! when i open the door i see it's a totally child oriented bathroom. i mean, unless i want to practically sit on the floor to pee, i gotta find somewhere else to go! what's up with this????

- my biggest news today made me quite mad! remember when I was talking about the food lion food lion manager and how he wouldn't let me exchange the baby food Gavin cant eat for something he can? so I called the corporate office and they sent me a letter stating that YES, I can exchange it? WELL....
I took that letter in today and showed it to the manager and I'll have you know he STILL refused to let me exchange it!!!!!!! can you believe it????

-we're going to be seeing Dr. Sinatra at Vanderbuilt for Gavin's first eye appointment.

six years ago: 3-2000
- On the good side of things, the baby is getting big enough to make an impact. On my tummy that is.

seven years ago: 3-1999
- As I start my journal today, I guess I can reflect on my other two pregnancies
- I told Canaan I was going to have another baby and he said "ok mommy, the baby in your belly?" Then he puts his head up to my belly and listens for a few seconds and says, "I hear it mommy! I hear the baby!" then he gets behind me and says "I'll help you push mommy." and proceeds to push against my back.
