good stuff

babe update.
he can hold his own bottle when he wants and as of today has started scooting himself backwards! *eek!*

have had a good couple of days, complete with good sleep.
hit some yard sales too. found Garrett some 12-18m stuff for the winter, and the 12m stuff for now too. also found him an adorable pair of soft Nike tenni shoes for $1. so cute! got him a new bedding set for $4. Noah's ark kind, with beige and blues and interactive soft animals on the bumper and head board cover. neato! found a few things that'll be saved for stocking stuffers come Christmas as well.
didn't do much of anything else today. dh went out of town early this morning and will be back about Wednesday. we got in some good alone time last night. much easier to do now that babe is sleeping in katlyn's room!
I also put up the PNP tonight. WOW, the room I've got in my room now!
tomorrow after church we'll be going to see my sis finally! looking forward to that.

great nights sleep!!
he stayed down from 10:45- 5 am, up for 35 minutes to eat, then back down til 7:30 when I brought him in bed with me. now THAT I can handle!!
I used it with Hunter and it worked within a week or two with him and he was 7 months. much easier to do at this age! I know Garrett will still have some rough spots, but this is a good start so I'm happy!

AND wanted to mention I can see Garrett's two bottom front baby teeth moving up his gums. not to break through very soon, I figure w/in another month (hopefully not sooner! :lol: ). the top ones aren't showing signs yet, so cool on that one! doesn't look like I'll get that gummy grin til he's 6 months though. :sniff:

sleep will make it all better!

just put G2 down and praying that we have a good night. last night sucked once again since he was up from 2:30-4:40 am. so I've implemented the 'sleep thread' techniques (started yesterday with naps really, so it can only go better from here... right?! ) he did nap pretty well on the 3rd take today 2 short 30 minute naps during the day til about 5 then he slept for about an hour and 15 finally (w/ a short wake up 45 minutes into it where I was able to just paci and pat his butt back to sleep). he's down earlier than usual too... course he could pop back awake w/in the next half hour. he's done that plenty of times. he's just so exhausted cause he's so busy during the day and doesn't really take long naps usually anyway. definitely time to get him sleeping better.
I remember Hunter being 7 months and us going through this. course then they can pull up and it makes it harder! I'm starting earlier this time. I need my sleep!!

I did get out for a walk with him today in the stroller. we went out around the yard and looked at everything. he was fine as long as we move. stinker. got much stuff cleaned/picked up, including a bit of rearranging on my living room. love that! our LR is pretty set the way it is and not much can be changed unless we got a new couch. (its a 3pc sectional). but I finagled some stuff and we have a different look for a while now. dh likes it so we'll see how long I keep it like this.
tomorrow is grocery day and the temps are to fall some too. mid 60s I believe. (BRRR LOL!) raining right now, but the kids went down fast.

I got to have a good chat with my neighbor, Regina, today. they're going to PA for the weekend and wanted to borrow my honkin washer to clean up a couple comforters before going. been a long time since we got to talk really! made me realize I need to make woman time with some gals. her, my friend Danielle and my friend Becky. need to get together with each of them on a good day and just BE! the kids will enjoy it too cause they all have homeschool kids their age.

ok, off to do a bit of stuff before running to bed while I can! he's still sleeping, so I may get a few winks in!

right now I'm a familial coordinator of education and higher learning with a degree in analytical perceptions on dynamics of interaction and negotiations through the nuclear family. I also do guidance counseling, in-home medical care, sanitation manager, art critique, chef-extraordinaire to a diverse pallet of tastes, referee in any and all confrontations, and for a while, I'm also a milk cow.
there is more, but that's the gist of it.
unfortunately, it doesn't pay much cash, and since we're working hard to pay off debt right now, we figure in November I can go get a job somewhere else for a while. mom will be done with her mums by then, so will be able to watch the kids.

*sigh*

G2 did go back to sleep around 6:15 or something like that. back up at 8 and had Canaan take him and entertain him so I could sleep more. he's back in bed now, don't know how long cause of the boys. late start today for sure. ugh. I'm just in a very cranky/bad mood.do better to send the kids to my moms for the day, but I know she'd not want to watch them. I get so upset sometimes cause it seems such a chore to watch the kids and she's the ONLY person we have to watch them. I hate asking and I feel like my kids are bad or something when I get the ol' hem/haw about watching them all. pity party for me today.
maybe it'll be good for me to go back to work come November. at least then I will get some time to myself, even if its to drive back and forth from work.

blast o' fun!

so we had a good day. Garrett and I got in a 2 hr (much needed) nap at noon. after getting up we got ready for our pics. its been raining/storming all day so we got wet going in. no worries though cause we had to wait @ 30 minutes. :P
I'm VERY happy w/ how the pics came out! it took like 5/6 tries, but we finally got one w/ no goofy faces. one had hunter puffing his cheeks out, one w/ Gavin hiding behind my head, one w/ katlyn looking off in space and another w/ H doing something goofy. we did get individual pics taken, but not buying those. they'll be OL on Monday though, so I'll show them off then. Garrett was getting fussy by the end so I had to hold him for his pic, didn't come out great, but oh well. we'll finally have a family pic again w/ all of us! yay!!

did have a FUNNY moment this afternoon. one of the kitchen sink handles have been messing up, so dh went to work on it today. well, you know those funny TV shows where it pops off and water is blasting up to the ceiling???? YEP!! that's it!! LOL! it caught him off guard. I was changing a dipe and hear what sounds like the sink sprayer going full blast, then C yelping cause he got wet, H too! so I put G2 in the crib to investigate.
...my cabinets were dripping! LMBO!!
he got the water shut off quick, but there was still a lot of sopping up to do for everyone. funny stuff! LOL!
and yes, he fixed the handle.

we'll be going to my cousins tomorrow! w/ or w/o the kids, gotta ask my mom. I'd like to just dh and I go, but we'll see. they still have tons of boxes everywhere, but I wanna see the new place!

A good OL friend is helping her friend to pass this around because her 3 year old was killed this year by a TV that toppled over. Many children are injured or killed each year due to the same thing, this is to urge a law that requires anchoring devices be made available on items with toppling potential and to put warning labels to alert parents/guardians.

well, I didn't get much zzz's last night. :lol: ugh. seems like he'll give me a couple good nights, then a couple bad ones. :dead: why am I not in bed now? I'm hard headed. :lol: I just laid him down about 15 minutes ago, so I'm heading there when I'm finished here.

got both my shops done today, but not without some frustration (a return trip because the package/clip board I gave to Canaan to carry out to the van for me while I grabbed the carseat, got laid on the counter and forgotten til I got to the location.)

but it all worked out.

I got my grocery getting done while in town this morning too, did go over my budget, but got 2 packs of rechargeable D batteries (that I'm needing) on sale for $6 each and a pack of medium flow nipples for G2's bottles. that stuff is what put me over. ah well, not like I'm stocking up on sweets or junk. and my grocery budget is only $80 a week, so I think that's pretty good. :lol:

in town tomorrow to pay bills and such and see if we can find this boy some 12m stuff. I did find 3 outfits today at a yard sale we chanced upon. $1 for all together, good deal. ;)

oh, Wal-Mart has a $1.98 special going on right now through tomorrow for a nice package. I'm going to TRY to get the kids in nice clothes in the morning so we can go in and get their pic together. would have done it today, but we had a power ranger and Scooby doo. :lol:

getting G2 down for bed. we watched the Steve Irwin memorial tonight. poor C was crying (trying to hide it at first) and got me to sniffling and tearing up in several spots. I feel so sad for the family, mainly cause I cant imagine the pain of losing my soul mate. I'd be devastated if I lost Robert.
Canaan said when he got by himself, he looked up and told Steve "crocs rule!"

going to be chilly here tomorrow, dh is loving it, he's so hot natured, its wonderful to him.

I gots me some sleep again!

starting earlier today. Garrett slept well again last night, from 11:15- 6:30, up for about 15 minutes after I put him in bed w/ me to nurse and he went back out and is still snoozing. I think he would have continued to sleep in the PNP, but he was head butting the corner again.
and I'm wondering if he's going to be a thumb sucker. he's taken to wearing out sucking on his thumb the past couple days. he's chewed his fingers for quite a while, but now its the thumb! he lays his hands across his face and makes all kinds of suckling noises. Gavin used to hold all 5 digits up and suck his thumb.
oh, and Garrett put another good sized hickie on dh last night! : crazy!
and I've gotta start hunting up 12m sleepers already. all the ones I bought last month are fitting now the same way the 3-6 were at that time. dang! I should get hopefully another months use out of them... maybe. some are longer than the others, but not by much. its dang hard to find 12m sleepers at yard sales too! while I'm at it, gotta find the kid some cold weather stuff. he's got some, but not a lot. enough for now since its off and on cool weather, but I like to be prepared!

I'm thinking of making pancakes and stuff for breakfast today. YUM!

Now when I am stuck in traffic , miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone . all the little things that annoy me, I think to myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment..


Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated;

God is at work watching over you.

had a good day, stayed in my grocery budget! and that was even w/ buying color ink for my printer that was much needed!
finished off our 2nd box of rice cereal for G, I think that's the most cereal I've ever used. got 2 more boxes that were given to us and after that I've got an oatmeal. don't know if we'll buy anymore after that though, he should be around 6 months by then.
daddy got home safe tonight. he's working Saturday and I've got a sonic shop that day. next week I've got a PO shop and a sonic shop. gotta get some more eBay up too, and work on my moms site this weekend.

just stuff and getting chilly!

I had to pull out some long sleeve stuff for all the kids today! its been like 68 the past couple days here during lunch! :wow: course I've had all the windows up enjoying it and stuff. :D but needed something to keep the goosebumps off everyone. went ahead and pulled out all G2s stuff except the 12m items. found a 6-9m sleeper I'd gotten at a yard sale, NWT for $1.50. its so cute, velour with ducks on the feet and embroidered duck prints and a matching hat. :love: he's wearing it tonight, makes him all soft and snuggly!

got more pics of him playing in the jumperoo tonight, wearing his little jeans. I think babies look so adorable in jeans! hehe!!

dh will be home tomorrow evening and tomorrow day we'll be going grocery getting. I'm thinking of using some of my food money to get G2 one of those 3 drawer rubbermaid 'dressers' (KWIM?) he needs a space to keep his stuff in besides the change table and hanging up. it'd fit perfect in the closet under the lowest half shelf. *thinking thinking*...

I'm sure hoping G2 sleeps well tonight. he's not done well the last two. course I've gotta get my butt to bed also, so going there now!

HE DID IT!

Garrett has officially shown us he can roll both ways!! he showed off today while we were all laying on the floor! he did it twice in fact, almost 3 times (in between the 2 times) but was stuck on his arm. so that's kinda 2 1/2 times cause his legs were 'tummied' but his shoulders weren't. Yay!!

if only they didnt have to go through that.

Canaan is still upset over Steve Irwin. he teared up and cried several times over the commercial they play of him on animal planet now. breaks my heart he has to go thru losing one of his 'heros'. he keeps asking if we can go to Australia. :)

I've moved Garrett up to size 3's in diapers. I bought one of those super huge diaper boxes and knew he'd not last through the 2's, so went ahead and got the 3's. fits him fine of course. little chunky monkey
