Garrett's Dedication day 3-11-07

Garrett was dedicated at church on 3-11. :) he did great (except for peeing through his diaper while we were up there. LOL!)

afterwards, we were waiting on Canaan to finish giving another boy drum lessons.

pics! (from 3-11)

more loose teeth!

kids are doing up some work before we head out. G-man has his 9 month checkup today and there's ball practice at 4, so it'll be a long afternoon again. :P
I'm thinking of using the kids free PP pizza coupons for lunch before we go to the ped. it'll be a treat since its been forever since we've been to pizza hut.
stacy, not much bloodshed here. plenty of arguing and such, but its to be expected. they all love each other though and watch out for each one.

speaking of teeth, katlyn still hadnt lost that snaggle tooth. her own doing though, you just touch it and she starts crying about it. I'm actually going to see if the dr till give it a yank today. who knows, maybe she feels the calling of a dentist!
BUT in a big surprise, Canaan lost ANOTHER tooth last night! it was the molar behind the molar he'd just pulled the night before. it'd felt loose, but he didnt actually think it was a pull tooth, just would tighten back up. nope! he was eating some ice last night and it started flopping around. he went to show sis (in a "look, I'm pulling 2 teeth and you've still got your one to yank!" type of taunt) and while he was holding onto it to show her, she smacked his hand and it popped out. that was easy! couse now he's got a BIG gap on the side of his mouth. and dang if I dont owe him another dollar today.

we've got an epidemic of tooth loss around here! I got gavin over to check his teeth JIC! his are all in tight though. I asked if he'd been super gluing them in. hehe!

loose teeth

we've got drama today. katlyn's got a loose tooth and is trying to pull it out herself. this girl is SO not a do it herself type of puller. its been an hour and the tooth is still not out, but tons of tears later....
canaan pulled his 2nd molar last night. it took a few days for that one, but he was so glad it came out finally.
I'm trying to get a CD to burn for Katlyn. its giving me problems for some reason. I made one for Canaan fine, I know she'll be upset if I cant get hers to burn too. :P

today was a good day, dh had to work so I had to take C to practice (geez, its a chore for me to get up early on a Saturday! ) I took the other kids to hardees for a cheap breakfast, then puttered around town not doing much. did find one yard sale where I found K a barbie unicorn (Lila) for .25. they had a Bob the Builder doll that talked, but it was very dirty and they wanted a $1 on it. no thanks. the boys were disappointed, but I'd have had to clean the thing top to bottom and not for that price!
we didnt play at the park today cause it was crazy cold this morning. one of the boys told C (in all their boy talk ya know) that he thought his balls would freeze off.

we came home afterwards, fixed lunch, cleaned around the house and stuff.
the cat lady brought back my cats (well, all but our female cause she's still healing). the boys (cats) were glad to be home cause they ran out of the carriers like crazy. all except 2, spongebob was all upset and he had to be loved on to let him know we werent mad at him-then he was fine, and one of our black ones (I cant tell them apart, but K can) he was comfy to just sit in the carrier.
while she was here she gave us 2 1/2 twenty pound bags of catfood!! that's awesome!! she said its donated and she has enough for now and was worried the mice would get to it. dh is going to put it in a plastic container for me in the garage tomorrow. that'll save me on kitty food for about a month or better! woo!

*yay, the CD burned!*

I also worked on staining some moulding for the doorways today, we'll get it put up tomorrow, and put on one piece of floor moulding in the kitchen and got two pieces cut for the utility room. the stuffs been here and done, just not cut and put on. I want it ON!
also hung up some eagle plates (a 3 pc set) dh picked up from a yard sale LAST YEAR. I got tired of it just laying around and hung it up over the kitchen pantry.
going to dad's with him doing home improvement set me in motion. LOL!! I could dump the house on its side and renovate if I had the stuff to!

OH, biggest news of course is that my baby is 9 months old! and he cut his 3rd tooth yesterday officially! that nagging top left one of his finally did it! its barely through, but its scratchy/sharp enough you can feel it really well. the other one looks like it'll be in like next week.

I got pics of him using his new walk behind walker today. I tried to show him yesterday how to use it, but he wasnt interested. tonight though he thought it was mighty cool to walk from one end of the house to the other! he would get so tickled when he'd walk up to someone, he'd laugh so hard he'd almost fall down!

dh is going to AL all next week. I wish we could go back to papas, but we're short on $ so the gas money is not there. :P I'd love to help him some more on the room. ah well.

hmmm... I'm sure there's more I was going to blab about, but cant remember.
G goes for his checkup on Tuesday. I'm interested to see how much he weighs. he feels like a ton of course, but the scale is only reading like 23 lbs still. I think he's got a hidden supply of weights he keeps in his diaper just for when I'm toting him.
oh, and I did find G some summer items in his tote (why do I keep forgetting this stuff??) I found 2 GAP 18-24m shortalls (the red pair he's wearing in the pic of papa feeding him is one pair), a couple of short rompers 18-24m and a pair of shorts. so those plus the short sleeve onesies he's got will do us til we can hit up some yard sales or go to CARES to see what we can find. the weather is supposed to warm back up in a couple of days! woo!!

busy day, bleh. not even the fun of yard saleing. I did stop at the cosignment store though and picked up G a walk behind toy by little tykes and a very pretty shirt for me! so far G isnt interested in walking with the thing, but just playing with the toys on front.

I had to buy him some new socks today, he's got about 6 pair that he can wear without them cutting off his ankles or only fitting half his foot. I had to buy him 18-36m size socks. yep, my big foot boy!

I saved $55 at the grocery store today! my bill was $65. then I had to go to evil-mart and get a very few items (including his socks) and spent $29 there.

back home!

we left out first thing Wednesday morning (well, we were out about 9) and we got in tonight about 7. it went great, I got the whole room primed, painted and ceiling done yesterday and today I did a bagging on one of the walls. got pics and will post a couple later on.
the kids did well, C had a problem of bugging papa about riding the 4wheelers while we were there, so of course they had to go do that, though they all took turns watching Garrett. my entire upper body muscles are KILLING me though! that's a WHOLE lot of roller painting to do! whew!!!!!!!!!! I could hardly lift my arms when I got up today.

dad fed us pizza and as a big bonus, gave me a wireless router for my home! course I cant use it yet since I'm on dialup, but it'll be here and ready to go as soon as we're upgraded around here!

I miss the warm weather. dang old cold front moved in today and its dropped to the 50s. wahhhhhhhhhh!

tuesday afternoon went fine, we got in town about 2:45, I took the kids to mcds after cashing FIL's check since we had to wait on Tori (she works at Mcds) and the kids were hungry and I knew it'd be a while before we ate for the meeting. we played outside while there. it was cute watching them. they love playing on the equipment and Garrett was so excited about the new stuff. he'd go to the stairs where the kids were going up in the crawl through thingy and would holler his head off at them. LOL! he did manage one step, but wasn't too sure about it. its his first set of stairs to climb. he did stand by himself a lot though while he was hollering at them.

I got pics of that too.

ball practice was what it was. we didnt get to play a lot though cause it was raining off and on. OH, one funny part was that while the kids DID get to play at a playset, they got in the sandbox. well, one thing led to another and before long it was a sandstorm between K, H and Gavin! I had to sit in the van cause garrett was sleeping, so I seen it all and was just laughing my head off! of course when they got back to the van, they had to shake off and each tried to blame it on the other. *uh huh* I had to make them all turn their heads down and shake out their heads. (you should have seen how dirty the water was at bathtime too! wowzers!!)
we also had to pass the time with some I-spy while waiting on canaan.

the HS meeting went good, grilled out and stuff, so we got fed! the kids played some more and the adults got to yak. got home about 8:30 that night. had to finish packing so we could leave when we had breakfast wednesday morning, so never got on that night..

the weekend

we had a good weekend. I think I wrote about going to moms on Saturday, but on Sunday, Garrett was dedicated at church! :twirl: he did really well except for peeing through his diaper while we were up front. LOL!
my mom took pics for me and I'll get those uploaded and posted soon! there were two other babies up there with us, only one was fussy, but a new toy and he was fine. :)
we're missing a few cats today! they were actually picked up on Saturday evening. the foster care lady for the animal shelter came and picked up a bunch and took to get them spayed/neutered. :aok: and all it'll 'cost' is whatever kind of donation I can do. that's so awesome! they should be back home tomorrow I think.
we still have about 4 or 5 outside that need a fixing, she may do that for me as well, we'll see!
yesterday after church was ball practice, but dh took C to that and the other kids and I stayed home to veg. we grilled out burgers when daddy got home.
tomorrow afternoon at 4 is ball practice then at 6:30 is the homeschool meeting. its also at the park, so it wont be a big deal, but it will be a long afternoon.  we don't usually leave a meeting til around 8. LOL! we may not stay as long though since we'll be outside and it may get a bit chilly during that time.
speaking of being at the park, I'm LOVING this weather!!! in the 70's this week! :jump: I'm just waiting for it to warm up a bit more this morning before upping all the windows! the laundry will go out to the line as well! WOO!
yesterday I wrote up a new chore list for the kids. been a while since we had one, but things are slacking, so I gotta get some motivation going. depending on how well they do, depends on how much allowance they'll get at the end of the week. ;) even Gavin has a box for 'wearing glasses' cause he just doesn't like wearing them. maybe this will give him a reason to!

...we may have a picnic for lunch today... hmmm...

the time change hasn't been bad. its usually awful trying to get the bed schedules worked out, but its not been bad. even with Garrett. last night he went to bed at 11:30 (which would have been 10:30 for him) so that's good. I did have to let him play himself out though, he fell asleep with his face laying on my feet. LOL

in some rambling stuff, I'm thinking of getting Katlyn an MP3 player for her birthday (in June, just like G, so not that far off!) she loves listening to music, but the CD player she has always runs down on batteries. plus this way she could have a big mix of music to listen to. do any of you have one you'd recommend? it doesn't have to be big or expensive (really, please not expensive LOL) just a good player and a good buy with decent space. :)
Canaan has his PSP to use as an MP3 player, so all we need to do for him is get him a bigger memory card to hold more songs.

today with pics

good evening! I NEED to get in bed, but wanted to drop these off first. some pics from today: (click to make larger)
nursing baby. he's got a LOT of blond highlights in his hair, especially in the back. I think he'll have the same color hair as Hunter, which is a dark blond/very light brown color (no matter how dark it looks in the 2nd and 3rd pics below ). Garrett may get wavy though.

at the ball field, waiting for big brother to get done

later at my moms. the kids helped my parents out in the yard. the 2nd pic is Canaan driving the tractor and papaw is on the back.

it was a good day, got to hit a yard sale, found some stuff for K (she wasn't in the pics cause she stayed with a friend last night). C had ball practice for a couple hours (which we were almost late for! I woke at 8:24 and he had to be there at 9! we got there at 9:04). after that we went to my moms and stayed the rest of the day. dh didn't get home til around 8 as did Katlyn.

I just wanna stay home on fridays sometimes

vegging, I think. waiting for G to go to sleep. he's tired as can be, but wouldn't fall asleep on me, so he's in his bed. awake. of course.
it was an ok day. nothing really wrong or overtiring, just ok. the weather was absolutely gorgeous out there though! I'd rather have been out playing in it all day than running errands!
the worst part of the day was traffic jam coming back from my sonic shop. good grief! it took me 45 minutes to drive 6 miles!  they're working on the interstate here, making it a 6.. or 8 lane road and they had an exit blocked off. not sure where all the traffic was coming from though cause it wasn't coming from the way I came, it was just THERE. bleh!

... gotta go lay him down again...

back.

dh got miffed at me tonight for stupid reasons. dinner wasn't ready when he came in at 7 (I was working on it, but had just got started) so he said 'did you forget I was coming home?' I looked at him like he was silly and told him the baby had gotten fussy, I had to get him to sleep, to which he only slept for like 10 minutes and I was working on it.
obviously the wrong thing to say or maybe the wrong tone. he thought I was being snippy I guess.  so kinda silent treatment the rest of the night. not totally, but not the 'honey I'm home' stuff either.  he can come in and be flippant, but I cant? whatevah.

.... BRB...

back... :P
tomorrow morning is to be ball practice, but they're calling for rain. so we'll see. dh is working, so if ball is called off, we may head over to my moms.
I need to redownload turbo lister for ebay. it updated itself and blew a fuse. LOL!

oh, did I ever mention that G's poop problems have been 'fixed'? he regularly eats Activia yogurt and it has made his digestion regular! no more poop problems, no more suppositories! he goes quite well now.

welcome Emily Jean!

Congratulations to my friend Bekki on the birth of her first daughter!
She has 4 sons, same as I and has finally welcomed in a little pink to the house. :)

G standing

and look, watch him go! his best trick now is to stand on his own for a few seconds. today he lasted about 10 at the longest. :)

at the park today

Canaan had his first ball practice of the season today. while there, me and the other kids went to the play area of the park. it was G's first time on a big swing (we have a baby swing in our yard and he loves it, but this one was much bigger). the kids had a blast and it was a nice day (except the wind, hence the hat on G's head). its to be in the 60's the rest of the week here! woo!
he was actually laughing in this one. :)

running and rolling down the hill

we got two new balls while there. the red one was found and the basketball was given to us!

what hes doing

G's gotten into the 'dropsie' game full force now. you know, the uh oh, I dropped it, but mommy will pick it back up for me thing. LOL! it's still cute for now though.
he's standing for longer periods of time on his own too. a lot of times he'll be holding onto my pants or something for support and doesnt even have a pull on them, so is standing by himself. its cute watching him progress
he's waving again, which is adorable! he started it one night this week when daddy was going to bed. he'd done it a month or so ago, but quit. now he's waving several times a day

waiting for little G to wind down. his clock is ticking tight!  he's raspberrying, sticking out his tongue, tossing his bottle around, playing with toys, climbing on the footstool (which I Had to move or else have him fall off again) and everything else he can find to do. yeah, I think it'll be a bit before I'm going to bed.

been a good couple of days overall, had a tiff this morning with dh about Hunter's shoes. spent 20 minutes looking for them and I finally said he'd stay here at home with daddy while we went to church, only to have daddy get upset for being woken up at 9 am to find shoes.  the shoes happened to be in our room next to his boots and he asked why I didn't think to look in there.  that'd be like me looking in their room for HIS boots!  so he's still on my poop list for now cause he's not apologized for that crack this morning. *hrump*

I fixed minute steaks for lunch today, along with some boiled taters, mac and cheese, cheese peas, roasted vege mix of red taters/carrots/onions and a salad. yeah, we're a carb family. it was good though! the vege mix is something like they gave us at Shogun.

we watched Flushed Away tonight and Grid Iron Gang. the first was funny! very cute and all the kids watched it (well, 'cept Garrett of course). the 2nd was good, but I didnt watch all of it, but what I did see was good.

friday

we had a good day, even hit a YARD SALE!! Woo!! found some great deals too. a fisher price infant to toddler seat for $2 (been wanting one for a long time), pair of 2T shorts for G this summer 10 cents, pair of low ride shorts and a halter top for me, both .50.
then we went to Cares and we found G a pair of shoes for .50. just what we needed!
after that, off to Food Lion, where I saved over $30 then to Evil-Mart where I got next to nothing, but still spent $30. go figure.

dinner was homemade sloppy joes (per Katlyn's request). C spent the night with my mom and step dad. tomorrow dh will be going to the park cause they're drafting their team members for the ball teams.  practice will be starting up within a couple weeks, so the days will be getting more hectic.
I'm thinking of going to my moms to hang out for a bit too...

oh, in other news, we're wanting to get a full sized van. we really need one since the kids are getting bigger and its a tight squeeze for them when two adults ride (C can sit up front with me otherwise). well, one of dh's friends will be selling their van later this month after their vacation. its a '99 GMC fully loaded with the tv and everything. very nice and we know its well taken care of, cause they own the Goodyear here in town. ;) he told dh he'd make an 'awesome deal' if we wanted it.
it'd be SO great to get something like that. it'd take more gas (its a V8), but all the room and stuff! we'll have to see what kind of deal it'll be, plus we'd have to sell off our van and what we'd still owe would have to go on to the 'new' van. so it's all a 'maybe' thing, but its nice to hope.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 14th wedding anniversary to my honey and I!!!

the story behind our wedding was this, we'd been living together for a year and I got tired of waiting for him to ask, so I asked him one day while we were riding through town! he said yes, asked me to pick a date and I picked March 1st (about a week away LOL!!). we'd planned on going to the JOP and having a bigger wedding in June (around his dad's bday), but his parents fixed up their house for us, got a pastor over there (who is actually my step dads pastor LOL) and we had the service at their house on a Monday night. I didn't have a wedding dress, only a nice church dress and the flowers I'd bought for my hair at Wal-Mart (and the flowers to make my own bouquet). his clothes were borrowed from his step brother cause he didn't own any dress clothes besides his army dress greens. I think the whole wedding cost $200. LMBO!!!! but we certainly got our money's worth!!
