Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a great day, no matter what you did! we had rain off and on for the first half, but no biggie with the big ol' carport/porch we have, so everyone stayed dry.
me, C, K and H went to church this morning. Gavin woke with a low fever and sore throat, so he stayed here with daddy. I got a bunch of 'how much longer?' today, hehe! I was glad to be able to say "I'm 9 months now, so whenever baby is ready!" WOO! that sounds so awesome! people were happy and saying 'today would be a great day to go!' LOL!
I got a bunch of flowers today, a handmade necklace from Hunter's sunday school. the older kids didnt get to go to the store today to get me anything (they really wanted to) so they were sad about that. (the store is a place in the sunday school where they can go to 'spend' the points they accumulate in sunday school. has lots of great stuff. )
came home afterwards and dh had already started on the grill so mom and I jumped right in to get all the other stuff prepared.
we ended up having grilled steaks, hamburgers, chicken breasts, hot dogs, brautz (sp?), green beans, macaroni, boiled taters, salad, biscuits and cresent rolls. for dessert we had a triple chocolate creme pie!
after stuffing ourselves ( LOL) mom and I sat down to make a list of baby shower stuff! it looks like it'll be fun and not terribly long. (my SIL's shower was over 4 hours! ) mine wont start til 5 on this coming saturday, so we're going for no more than 2 hours, which I think is fine. we're not doing a lot of sit-games, this is what we'll have:
  1. Dont say baby
  2. baby ice cubes (my water broke)
  3. how big is mom's belly
  4. who has the dirty diaper
  5. guess the # of candy in the baby bottle
  6. what's mom wearing (I'll leave the room before this is announced)
  7. baby word find
so most of those will be throughout the time we're there and only the scrabble and what I'm wearing will be sit down games.

for foods, so far we've decided on chicken salad w/ fruit with ritz crackers, chips & salsa, sour cream/ranch dip, a huge fruit and veggie tray set up, some sherbert punch, sweet tea, water, etc (I cant stand to only have punch to drink!) and we're also going to make fruit/veggie shish-ka-bobs and veggie roll ups for dipping.

I'm taking over my kids birthday scrapbook and thier personal baby pic photo albums to have on display and share. love to show off my babies!

I'm going to make a mini diaper cake as a centerpiece too.
I picked blue and green balloons, mom has a pretty white table cloth for the table and mom's going to make the cake. if she makes it how she wants, its going to be a HOOT!! she's going to try a pg belly cake with the round cake pan as the belly, a smaller round pan as the head and two cupcakes as the boobs!!! hilarious!!!!!! I told her the older church ladies may do a little eye-bugging at that!

it sounds like a LOT of ladies will be there! which really surprises me, cause I figured I'd be good to have 6 people there. LOL! the only bad thing is that its set up the last day of the Strawberry Festival of the town next to us (where we go to church), so some of the younger gals may not come cause of that. no biggie though, I'm just looking forward to the fun!

so now I'm really excited about it all! been a LONG time since I had a shower. LOL!
our only other worry is if SIL will be there! she's not been feeling well all day, tummy ache, cramps and all that, just like she was when she was having prelabor pains. my brother came out for a while today and said she was trying to lay down and rest, but he was worried about her. its not going to be long at all!! we're betting she goes this week!

now for the rest of my moms day stuff, the big boys got out and mowed the yard and after mom and I brainstormed on the shower, we decided to get the prybars and hammer and go out front and tear apart this terrible/falling apart piece of junk "porch" that's been at our front door way too long! the wood had rotted and nailheads were up and just really awful! dh hasnt had time to take it apart and stuff, so we decided to do the job! we got all the rotted wood off, all the nails out and cleaned up! the frame work is fine, just needs pressure treated wood as a base and new rails. we were so proud of ourselves. hehe! we did have minor injuries from it though LOL! I got a bruised fingertip, a scratch on a knuckle and a blood blister. LOL! oh, the aches of a working woman. LOL! he was tickled we did it though, even after the 'what are you doing' looks he sent our way when he'd pass by on the mower.

then mom decided she wanted to trim up some of my trees/shrubs! that woman loves anything that grows. LOL! she got my hedge clippers out and trimmed several trees, yucca bushes, dead-headed irises for me, pruned bushes back and in the process found some poison oak. yep! she was clearing out around a group of trees that have wild bushes growing at the bottom and pulled out a big vine of stuff. looked at it and said 'ya know, I think this might be... hmmm... it could be... ' I seen it and said 'that's poison oak or poison sumac!' (and backed away LOL) well, turns out she'd already pulled out a shorter vine of it (K and G were loading up all the brush clippings in the wagon to take down to the brush pile). so she took care of that since she's not allergic and I also found it growing in another shrub close by that one.
she's coming later this week and will get out the push mower and clean out all that stuff! what would I do without my momma? LOL!
after that it was around 7:30 so we went in so we could scrub/wash up really well! I hope none of that stuff spreads! we even stuck our jackets in the wash.

before everyone went outside though, dh gave mom and I mother's day cards. they're so pretty! he always picks the nicest ones! the funniest part was after he gave me my card, i had my arm wrapped around his leg (he was standing beside where I was sitting), and he took my hand and put it at his front pocket. I thought he was trying to be kinky, LOL, but turns out he had a gift for me!

isnt it adorable?! that's on my right pinkie finger cause I need to get it resized for my left middle finger. and its two ruby hearts in case you cant tell well enough. I'm not a big jewelry person, so I rarely ask for it, he usually surprises me with stuff! love that man!! so I'm counting this as a mom's day/push present gift! hehe! he got a tickle out of that!

so yes, we've had a great day! Katlyn went home with mom, took her books so she could get some more work done tomorrow.
mom and I will go shopping at some point this week for the party favors, prizes and stuff.

OH, forgot to tell that C and K both won a trip with the lead sunday school teachers to Nashville at the Rainforest Cafe! it'll be them and four other students that go, all paid for by the church! I know they'll love it, I remember pics from when Mel and Kelly went there! they're super excited! I'm really glad they both won (it was a name drawing so the odds were really against that!).

day before Mom's Day

we had a great day today. the kids stayed here with daddy while mom and I went to tashas mom's house for her shower. we dropped C off there with her step dad cause he was taking all the boys/guys fishing. C loved that!
the shower lasted for like...4 hours! longest one I've ever been to! LOL! I did win four of the games though! hehe! the best one I won was to guess how big around tasha was. I measured my belly, then took off a couple of inches. I missed it by like a quarter inch! made me feel REALLY good! LOL!!
I had more sweets today than I normally have all week! *eek* the homemade cake was good adn they had these little baby paci sweet tarts. yum! plus all the other good food. I left full!!
I picked up the meats for grilling tomorrow afterwards. gosh, its gonna be SO delicious! I'm kinda sad though cause I know I wont be able to eat a lot. LOL!

and yes, been having different types of contrax all day. earlier today it was all radiating down my legs. made standing up for stretches a real booger! I kept having to march my legs to help with the pain.
then later it was the regular cramp type ones, sometimes around the back.
tonight its the cramp type mostly and baby is shifted in front (his back is at my belly button) and he's quite active and its hurting my belly button!!

I've noticed a lot of pressure with this one too. I never really had any pressure from Hunter cause he floated til they broke my water, but this little one is shifted down where he's suposed to be and I can tell a difference! lots of sharp pains in my pelvis and the pee thing is rediculous!

with the kids: both K and G woke with barky sore throats this morning. some juice helped G while K has kept a sore throat all day. she had a fever (low grade) this morning while G was fever free. now tonight she had another very low grade fever while G was back to burning up. : so I'm not sure if we'll be going to church in the morning, and if we do, not sure who will all go. maybe just me, C and H. we'll see.

rain, blah, food

the appraiser finally came. didn't stay long but he's got the sheet of info of all the additional changes we've made since last time, which should greatly help us out. should know in a couple days I guess how it came out.

no practice today, way too muddy out there. I'm glad though, didn't feel like going back into town. :P

I'd like to take a nap actually! thinking of making mini sausages for dinner and some mashed taters and green beans for dinner.
I wanted the left over taco bell burrito for a late lunch, but gave it up to Katlyn since she asked. I try to be nice, but dang, I was reeeeeeeeeeeeally wanting that burrito. so I ate some chips and a DP and had an icy pop. woowee, really good there. no wonder I don't gain more, I give my kids my food. LOL!

35 weeks appt

I'm + 1 lb, BP 110/58
baby is vertex at -3 station and measuring 35 cm (35 weeks)
and I'm 2 cm dilated!
no real effacement yet, but no biggie!
Dr said to wait at least 10 more days and then they'd let labor progress without intervention. Don't think that'll be a problem, sure I've got plenty of time left!
I didn't get pre-registered at the hospital today. seems everyone and their brother were there to pre-reg for something and I didn't want to wait that long. I'll try again after my next appt (May 23rd).
I did get to have lunch with dh again today! we had Mexican *yum!*. I only got one soft shell taco and my DP though. he looked at me funny. LOL! where can I put anymore? that stuffed me as it was!
I think he's kinda freaked that its so soon to baby time. I told him the news and that after 10 days we can go ahead and he kinda "you got at least 3 weeks!"

in other pg news, my SIL found out she went from basically no progress last week to 75% and 3 cm yesterday! she's due June 5th, so she's got the go ahead to let labor progress and looks like it wont be long now! I'll have my first nephew soon!

I'm waiting on the appraiser to get here now... been waiting for about 2 hours. we got the house straightened up and I put together our family page for the homeschool yearbook in that time. gotta turn it in tonight, nothing like last minute. LOL!

the bug man sprayeth

the kids are finishing up some tests and I'm sitting after getting laundry moved over and a new load in.
bug man left earlier. he foamed inside the walls where the ants were (should have seen them racing out *shudder*) and the colony wasnt under the house, so must be out the front somewhere. he sprayed all that and all the baseboards, got behind the fridge where some regular ol' black ants had been seen a few weeks ago (before I Raided their behinds!) and set some traps in the closets to see if we have a problem with any bugs there. he also sprayed the wood in the porch roof for carpenter bees, just as a help. it wont prevent them, but will discourage. he did give some tips on getting rid of them though. I'll tell dh about that tonight. what is it with 'carpenter' everything anyway???? I'd like dh to be the only carpenter around here, thank you! sheesh!
so I took the kids in town while he sprayed and we grabbed lunch at wendys (chic nuggets for the boys) and taco bell for the rest of us. went to the park to eat and work on some school work and just enjoy the purdy day!
C has a ballgame tonight, gotta be there at 5:30. afterwards we'll take all the kids to moms.

35 weeks!!

35 weeks today!!!!!!
I slept like POOP last night!!! got to 'sleep' about midnight after, yes, some with dh, then was up like every-single-stinkin-hour-to-pee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!! my gosh, I'm going to be a walking zombie today! took a LOT of makeup to make me look normal this morning.

Hunter is officially sick though. poor little guy has a barky sore throat and a low grade fever. he's staying home, along with Canaan this morning cause daddy is still sleeping. they wont be doing much anyway cause its supposed to rain. he sounds so pitiful though.

plaly ball!

had C's ballgame tonight! they won!! final score 14-3 against the next hardest team right now. WTG boys! Canaan scored 4 outs while in outfield and 4 runs (out of 5) while batting. he didnt get home the first time before the 3rd out was made. he made some awesome plays, including when he stole 2nd once which was really close! need to teach that boy to run faster! he played shortstop and first base tonight. I was on the phone with dh for most of the game giving him a play by play. LOL!

afterwards we met my mom and stepdad in town cause they came in to eat. they had mexican. I really shouldnt have had anything. I got some bean/cheese dip and ate some of gavin's rice and had water. I'm so stuffed. dang my stubborn "this tastes so good" self! ugh!

the only thing I have planned for tomorrow is a sonic shop from 5-8pm. they had me from 8-close again but I asked for a change. good grief people! I've had offers for other shops, namely for BP. they pay ok and arent hard to do, mostly filling out forms and taking pics, but they take at least an hour and I wouldnt get the paperwork for about 2 weeks. I dont think now is the time to take a shop that I have to put off for a couple weeks! no biggie, and they understood.

full day!

I'm tired, but not hurting like I was last night. LOL! we got a LOT done today as well. the house looks so awesome (well, most parts LOL). I love my carpets! they look great! my mom is so cool!!
so recap of the day after getting off here (be ready for a lot of blabbing LOL).
breakfast then school started, worked on finding an affordable pest control to come out. Found one finally after about 10 calls that'll do everything, from the crawl space to the inside/outside, perimeter and inside walls for $110. they'll be here on monday!

mom got here right about lunch and so I fixed grilled chicken sandwiches for us and the kids and she started in on the bathroom. she cleaned behind our potty (our bathroom is carpeted and I have nothing to deep clean behind the potty. ). I looks so good now! while in the area, she also started on my potty. LOL! we have terrible calcium buildup in the bowls and she dumped a bunch of CLR in there and after soaking and scraping it looks like new! (Gavin later said "Mommy's toilet water is white!" ). while she was doing all that, I'd already started on cleaning the shower in our bath and the tub in the kids bath. also got all the sinks and counters cleaned.

while pottys were soaking, mom started in on K's room after the kids moved out all the moveable stuff (toyboxes/toy shelves, etc). I started in on dusting all the high areas in the house (cobwebs in the corners and all that) through the whole house. after that I got the vacuum and worked on the central air system, cleaning off the front of the thing where all the dust tends to collect, then the inside by taking out the filters and getting those clean, then while I was in there, vacuumed the whole inside of the walled area I could reach. LOL! then while in the same area, vacuumed all the nooks and crannies of the floor in the utility room.

after K's room, mom worked on the pottys some more (I was still working on the vacuuming) and the kids got the moveable stuff out of the boys room. then got the boys carpet done and while she was in there, she dusted the whole kids entertainment center. LOL!

the boys carpet was pretty dirty cause that's where they hang out mostly, in their recliner in front of that tv. they tend to sneak food and drinks in there which get spilled so it was needing of a cleaning!!

in the midst of all that, I found thousands of ants outside the window. argh!! they're traveling round the track of the window and stuff. I got out some bleach water and sprayed all around the inside and mom took the hose outside and sprayed out the window. sure it wont get rid of them, but it'll discourage them a bit. grrrrrr!

after all that it was about 4:30 and daddy was on his way home. mom was done so she headed out and the kids and I headed in town to meet him at Captain Ds for dinner (kids eat for .99 on Thursdays)

while there I noticed a LOT of people were staring at us. I dont know if its cause they'd not seen a 'big' family (and expecting) for a long time, or if they kept expecting the kids to get hairy and wild or what. who knows! we did get compliments on the kids though from some older patrons that were leaving. and another asked if they could take two of the kids home. LOL!
also while there, C and I were getting our food up front and the lady ordering turned and asked "Oh, how much longer do you have?" and I happily said 5 weeks (I always like rounding down. LOL!!) and she kinda "5 weeks?!" and looked at my belly and didnt say anything else (she turned to talk to her two kids). so dont know if that was good or bad. she'd have no right to talk cause she was bigger than I am now and not pg. so who cares either way. LOL!
the ladies at Captain Ds are excited for the baby to come. every time we go in they ask 'how much longer' and if we have names (grrrrrrr! LOL) and I found that one of them is expecting, again in December! she has a 4 month old now. my hero!

so after we came home, I got the sewing bug in full force and started in on ALL the stuff that's been sitting on my sewing table. included 2 power ranger suits, one spiderman suit, 1 pair of jeans, 1 dress, 1 crib bedskirt, 1 shirt (shortened both sleeves), and one fitted bed sheet (needed new elastic). now my table is cleared of projects (except for Ks birthday blanket) and I'm feeling good!

I also moved my extra computer chair in to my craft area and I'll use that as a nursing chair when baby gets here and its a lot more comfy than the hard kitchen chair that I was using!

didnt get to watch Survivor or CSI, but I got to hear them. SO glad Shane finally got kicked off!!!! geez!! he was such a fruitloop!!

oh, dh also put up the new TP holder in our bathroom!! I'm so happy!! since we moved in we've had a wooden TP holder that has a little cabinet under it to hold more tp. a couple years ago I bought a new TP holder that matches the towel rack and faucets (silver with white ceramic wall mounts-kinda old fashioned looking). so the holder has jsut been sitting in the box... waiting. I got it out and asked oh so sweetly to please have it done before he left this weekend. hehe! my wonderful hubby got it done in a jiff after we got home. love that man!

he is going out of town in the morning too. probably be gone till sunday. so no nookie til he gets back. LOL! (he'll be about 3 hours away).

the kids are sleeping in the living room tonight cause the queen size mattress that we usually keep against the wall at the end of the bunks in their room is still in the floor in front of the tv. so they wanted a 'camp out' tonight. I just hope they all sleep! LOL!

tomorrow will probably not be yard sales cause rain is supposed to be a wash out. still gotta go in town though to do the basics. C is supposed to have a ball game tomorrow too, but that 'probably' wont happen. will have to see tomorrow.

baby has been active, but mostly in the pushing stage now. every now and then I'll still get kicks and punches, but its been a lot of sticking out arms or legs and a foot trying to get comfy in there.

OH, and I was informed today while answering a question to K about the baby... I had called the baby "he" and she stopped me and said "its a girl mom." LOL! so I corrected "the baby...". even C is now starting again on hoping we're surprised with a girl at the birth. me oh my.

if you got through all that, well, bless you and I hope you're a fast reader!! LOL!!

...

ugh, I'm so tired today.
.......zzzzzzzzzz.........

no worries, still here!

slept pretty much like crap last night.  up to pee a lot and got woke up by a few cramps. only a couple were painful enough to draw my legs up, the others I just woke up to.
and ok, no more pink! as of now and through the night.
I think I'll have to demote dh to weekend nookie for a couple more weeks.  he thinks I'm an Indian giver. LOL!

today I'm going to work on getting the bassinette together.  why not, huh? that way I can look at it sitting empty for the next 6 weeks. ;)

my next OB is on the 9th (next Tuesday), so I'll tell dr. p about yesterday and if I have any more days like that. he'll probably fuss cause I didn't go in for a check. I just wasn't worried about it though. there were a few that radiated down my legs and around my back. those are likely the ones that caused the spotting.

today I'm sure will be normal. its raining out there and blah again. pooh. at least dh had a sunny day yesterday to take off.

Monday, May 01, 2006

hmmm

just a tinge more spotting tonight.
don't have the keys in hand. I'm expecting to be getting a decent nights sleep.
though both parents know how today has gone. LOL!

strong stuff!

I finally gave DH the go ahead to have free reign with um... ya know, doing the deed. ;) he's been on hiatus for a while cause of my worry over it sending me into labor too soon.
so now that its May, time to start prepping the ol' bod for eviction!
well, seems it wont take that much. LOL!
after this morning, I had cramps and braxtons until well after lunch. painful ones too. even had some light spotting, so I could have dilated a bit more (I'm already @2 cm).
Things have slowed down to normal now, only a couple BH an hour or so, nothing big. ;)
I think I'll have to demote him to restricted play for a couple weeks though. LOL!
