FIL and teeth!

all right, finally a happy post again!
two good things today/tonight.
FIL is here with us. they released him tonight to come home to rest and recoup until he goes back for a colonoscopy on the 21st. (yeah, he's real thrilled about that ). he's got to go get some scripts filled tomorrow and go grocery shopping cause they put him on a strict diet and no more than 50 grams of fat a day. (egads!) he's miffed about that (no cornbread, biscuits, chocolate, etc LOL) but he said he's had to do it before and can make it again.

the next thing is Katlyn lost another tooth tonight! been a long time since a tooth was pulled here, but we've been waiting on this little hanger-oner for a long time too! its her upper incisor to (her) left of her two front teeth. the permanent had already started to come in behind it, so it's got some repositioning to do. she just will NOT tell ya if a tooth is loose, so I remembered tonight about checking it friday while at mcds and told dh before he went to bed. he agreed that it needed to come out now. poor little girl, she just does not do pain well at all! many tears and hiccups later though he got it out for her. I know she'll feel better when its healed. its been tender on her for a while, but she just refused to say anything!
afterwards, she asked if she'd get $5 for it. I told her that would depend on what the tooth fairy had in her pocket.
the funny thing was Gavin and Hunter's reaction. "what is daddy doing to Sissy?!" "why is he taking her tooth out?!" "why is she crying?!" "will he put it back?" "why is it bleeding?" "ew, yucky!!" ( )
Hunter would NOT touch the tooth afterwards. Gavin (being the budding scientist he is) held it and examined it, still not sure why we had to take her tooth from her. LOL!
then we asked him if he had any loose... "nope!" LOL! which I do expect it soon though. both C and K were 5 when their first teeth came out, so Gav is just in the waiting game.
one thing for sure, Katlyn will need braces at some point. I dont know where she got such a tiny jaw from, but her teeth are very crowded. her bottom jaw sticks out beyond her upper jaw as well by about maybe 1/4". her pediatrician said it was from her having such fast growth spurts and being so tall cause she had gone through the same thing as a child (the ped lady being about 6' tall). she said back then they had to break her jaw and reset it into position, but today they have less traumatic ways of taking care of it (thank God!). hopefully we can get some sort of dental insurance before that is a must to help with all that.

Canaan also has one wiggly tooth, but at the rate its going it'll be another year before its ready. its his lower canine on the left. its been the same wiggly for a while now, so no rush. he did get 'miffed' tonight and asked "why does Katlyn get to lose all her teeth?" ( ) and I reminded him that he's already gone through most of his tooth losing already. silly boy!

busy bee!

I got a lot done yesterday! between school work and stuff I stayed busy!
got down almost everything from top of the boys closet to sort through and see what I had or didn't have.
I've got plenty of cloth diapers! I sorted out a lot that I'm just tired of looking at or messing with and will probably list them on here to see if anyone just wants them for real cheap.
got a bunch of stuff in the wash pile for today, burp towels/bibs/baby carrier/sling, etc.
Got a drawer in my craft drawers (that sounds funny LOL) cleaned out and put some newborn diapers, breast pads and other odds and ends in there.
I got the crib cleaned! got all the big stuffed animals out (gotta buy a large flat tub to store them in under the baby bed now), changed the sheets, dust ruffle and tossed in a comforter for now.
I was sad to find that the 'new' bumper I'd gotten wont fit! its for a travel size crib so is too small for ours and I don't have anywhere to use it. *wah* so it'll go to goodwill or I'll see if my SIL can use it cause she was talking of getting a small crib.
so there's no bumper on it yet, my other choice is missing two ties so I need to sew on some ribbon for that and the other is in the laundry. no biggie of course, not like I don't have time for all that. LOL!
also changed our bed sheets and did 3 loads of laundry and vacuuming.
dh was kinda surprised when he got home. he seen the big pile of diapers I'm ditching and asked "you giving up on babies?" LOl! had to tell him I was just sorting and organizing. hehe!

on today's agenda? don't know! breakfast first! LOL!

I feel so accomplished this morning! I've gotten so much sewing done! its been months since I pulled out my machines and stuff has been piled up, but this morning I got busy!
I worked some more on Katlyn's princess blanket that was *supposed* to be a Christmas present, but well, didn't quite get done. so it'll be a bday present this year! I got 6 panels of it done and the piping. I'm out of piping now though, so gotta get some more!
then I put the binding on a baby blanket that's been needing it for a few years. so its all done!
then put in some new elastic on one of katlyn's skirts.
I was going to fix some of dh's pants, but they need to be sewn in the knees and that's just a PITA to mess with, so go on that.
but at least its something! I also got the church youth group scrap book stuff together and hopefully I'll remember to take that in this coming weekend.

I'd love to sew up some baby clothes, but making boys stuff is not fun. unless I think of an idea for a coming home outfit. no ideas yet though.

I'm also thinking of sorting the crib out today and putting in the new sheets and crib bumper.... maybe. LOL!

kids are making egg sandwiches and they've gotten their dirty laundry sorted so I can get laundry done today (woo.)

sunday- 26 weeks

 

waiting to get the kids up for church today so I'm hopping on here.

did I mention that I'm now under 100 days till my edd?
and today I'm 26 weeks, which is 6 1/2 months?!

and I still have not a thing done for baby, including an official name? ah well, guess I get leeway being my 5th.

I've felt pretty good all weekend! of course I've done NOTHING so that probably means something but at least I'm not overly limping anywhere like I was on friday. I keep getting shocked when at walmart. every single time I touch a rack its *ZAP!!!* and it bugs the crud out of me! turns out I was dragging my feet when walking-the backs of my heels- which I do NOT normally do. I tried to quit doing it, but getting my hips to cooperate just wasnt happening. that made me feel even worse. couldnt even get my own darn feet up off the floor all the way. sheesh!
I'm feeling huge and I know I've got a lot of 'huge' to go yet. ack! I did lose one pound this weekend (woo!) but I put it back on from last nights dinner. I think I'm up...(counting...) 17 lbs now. geez. makes me wonder how I'm going to get back to my prepg weight within 2 years or so after baby comes. :P I know, I'm whining again, kick me in the butt! (just be gentle LOL)

baby boy is very active. I think he's settling into a 'favorite' position. I can normally find his little buttkiss right under my right ribs. his back is curved down my right side, which is very normal to me as I think all but one of my kids have settled into that position. I think Hunter was on my left side I know one was an odd ball and he's always been the booger ya know.

speaking of my little rambuncition: yesterday he (finally) wanted to go outside to play with sis and gavin, so he was getting his clothes and shoes on. he was going to put shoes on with no socks and I caught him. so he gets socks and as he's putting them on he says "this easy, mommy." (he alwasy puts his socks on correctly-no heels on the top type stuff like gavin still does LOL). then he's getting his shoes on (which he does a really good job of putting them on the right foot too) and as I'm watching him do all this himself, I tell him "you sure are a big boy Hunter". he nods his head very seriously and says "I no tiny boy, I a big boy." just makes me wanna snuggle him up!

we see how big he's getting now, knowing there will be a little baby soon, our current 'baby' looks huge!! I dont even know how tall he is right now, but he's not far behind Gav.

100 days!

as of today, there are 100 days until my due date! I wake up tomorrow in the double digits! *eek*

weight issues

I'm getting more worried about my weight gain. (I know, same ol' story!) but reading through my journals of previous pgs, with H I gained a total of 22 lbs -8.11 lb baby-, with G a total of 18 lbs -8.2 lb baby-, with Katlyn 8 lbs -7.5 lb baby-, with C 32 lbs -10 lb baby. see a correlation in weight to baby size? I'm already up 15 so far with @ 15 weeks to go! (geez, that does NOT seem like long!) I just don't wanna pop out another 10 lber. I know it'd be easier this time, but still!
baby is seriously taking up much room in there. I know he's a floater though, so that helps me think he's not huge already. LOL! I have NO cervical pain, just hip pain, round ligament pain and small stomach to food ratio ( )and hard breathing. I've gotta get better on my meal sizing. I did better last night, but was still too full after just a grill cheese and a helping of mac & cheese (plugged up anyone? ) and a glass of apple juice. I was miserable!
for breakfast I had two pancakes and a glass of milk and I think I'm good til around 3 or later today. :P

I also think baby is almost transverse right now. I know he's sunny side up, but with the way the kicks and pokes are going, I'm thinking he's cradled in there instead of head down. I know, no worries, plenty of time and all, it just does worry me a bit. LOL!

we watched Just Like Heaven (liked it!!) and Red Eye (cool!) tonight. both were really good movies!

earlier my brother called up and then I heard the whole house singing Happy Birthday to me! even the dog started singing in! : too cute!

What your baby looks like at six months

By six months (24 weeks), you should have started to feel your baby moving. She's still long and lean but will soon start to put on some baby fat. Her facial features — lips, eyebrows, eyelids — are more distinct and her teeth are starting to develop under her gums.

my birthday!

I've had a good day, took today to celebrate my bday since mom could watch the kids for us and it was a happy day! have pics to post too at the end.

started out with dh going to get Canaan signed up for baseball! dh will be an assistant coach this year again and he's looking forward to the new team (last years coach totally sucked eggs) so we switched teams, moved up and hope for a much better year!
about 1 we took the kids to my moms. we had snow last night, which wasn't much, but without getting out of the 20's today it made the roads kinda bad for most of the morning... so dh did all the driving.
headed off to the next city cause I was hungry for some Outback!! well, they didn't open till 3, so we went to Sams club and walked around (not members, so just browsing) found some good deals of course.
we got back to OB about 2:45 and waited. nothing like being one of the first in! hehe! we weren't the first IN the building, but with dh's finagling, we were the first to be seated!
we got the blooming onion and I got the outback special. I just love their steaks. my gosh!
the waitress brought us out a big ol hot fudge sundae at the end too for my bday.
it was all so good. my gosh, I'm embarrassed to say I ate so much, but I cleaned my plate... and my salad bowl, and about a half loaf of their bread and probably half that bloomin onion! plus about 3 or 4 Dr. Peppers!
in ALL seriousness, you know how when you drink, it doesn't hit till you stand up? well, none of this all hit till I stood up! I couldn't take a full breath!!! : OMGOsh, it was pitiful! I felt like I had a concrete block in half my belly trying to breathe around it! I was so miserable... but it all tasted so good! hehe!!
we went to the mall afterwards cause dh was wanting to find a pair of shoes (which he never found what he wanted) and I was literally holding my tummy with my hands cupped under it cause I was SO dang FULL! awful, pitiful. go into the restaurant looking 6 months pg, come out looking like it birth time!!!
while there we met some people we knew, including brother and SIL. we swapped belly stories of the day and relaxed while the menfolk did their magazine rounds.
at JCP I found a nice clearance on winter maternity! got me two tops for 3.77 each (will post pics).

after being in there till after 6 we headed home. I was beat and food was finally settling ( LOL).

we got to my moms around 7 or so and she gave me my bday pressie! she got me the Kecci bag I've been drooling over!! (got a pic!) its so pretty!! and much bigger than I thought! I was worried it'd be a mini diaper bag, but nope, lots of space without being huge! I love it! my first designer bag (would know it'd be a diaper bag ) and I'm thrilled!

um, lets see..

oh, played on moms internet (since she has DSL) and finally found dh a new ringtone for his new phone. (he HAD to switch phones today cause his antenna broke on the old one.) and he got Raiders of the Lost Ark. just his style. hehe!

Canaan got back from Louisville after we got to moms. they had a safe trip, though they seen many accidents along the way! (icy roads and all that). his favorite thing is that he saw Big Tom and Kentucky Joe from Survivor there and got their autographs. he called me up to tell me that earlier today. he was SO excited. LOL!

oh, I got several bday cards in the mail today too! woo!

baby S has been showing off tonight. I put my cell phone on my belly and we watched it bounce around for quite a long time. :)

 

Dh is ask tonight "are we stopping at 5?" out of the blue. LOL! I told him I'm only half of the team, he makes deposits, I do the savings. LMBO!

 

23 week dr. appt and then some

 

appt went well today. kids got to hear the h/b thumping away and baby kept squirming away from the dr. and no, only one h/b found.. course he only listened in one spot. LOL!
BP was 109/63 and I've gained 3 lbs. I knew there'd be weight gain this time. LOL!
I told the dr. I feel like baby or I had a growth spurt this week and he laughed at me.
he measured my belly for the first time and he didn't tell me the number, but I asked if it was 'on target' and he nodded.

baby woke around 5:30 this morning with dh and kept me awake for about an hour. he was playing all over the place. I actually had my first 'bad sleep night' last night. couldn't get comfy for anything. my belly felt so heavy all night. I thought I lost my knee pillow once, but discovered I'd put it under my head at some point.

I did go ahead and get Hunter's new carseat today. I got this one

the padding in the seat was more than the evenflo big kid seat and they're the same price. I went ahead and set him up in the back seat with Gav. they didn't have the half booster like the pic above for gav, so I just took off his front bar on the one he has now and will let him use it that way. course I know h will likely still sit in the middle at times before baby gets here, but they're set up now. katlyn said she'll sit by baby.

also stopped at Cares while in Portland and found 7 diaper covers a cute burp towel, a hooded bunny terry cloth baby towel, a cute baby gown and a bug holder... uh, its a little plastic bug home that the kids can catch them in and they can live a while and the kids can observe.
I did find an adorable crib bumper there. it had turtles, frogs and stuff on a mint green/light blue background. it was only $2, but I hadn't gone to the bank yet and they only take cash. tomorrow is quarter day on clothes so I *may* go back down and see if they still have it. may.... not sure. perhaps wait till Friday. LOL!

oh, my mom asked this morning if Robert was planning on anything special for my birthday. we usually just go out to dinner, so she may watch the kids for me on Saturday perhaps. Canaan will be gone with papaw to the tractor pull that day anyway, so mom will be by herself.
