listening to the MP3

the appt went just fine. didnt have to wait hardly 10 minutes so that was great! they said I gained 7 this month (remember I didnt gain any last month) but my scales only read 4. though I did stop for a biscuit/DP before going. oh well. they say a 19 lb gain so far, I say 16. BP was 123/56 and my HR was 85.
seen the female dr today. she's nice, just brisk. seriously she was good to be in the room 5 minutes. maybe not even that. 
I'm measuring 24cm and am 24 weeks so right on track! *whew* I love it when things measure right. :-)

I got my orders for the GTT and could have done it today if I'd not had breakfast, so I'll do it the next time after my appt. no biggie. anyway, she asked if I'd been feeling baby move plenty lately and I said yes and told her she'd been having quite a few hiccups as well (good stuff) so she had me lay down to hear the h/b. she put the doppler on my right side and we could hear her, just really low, so she said, let's check the other side to get a better listen. when she did that, she obviously got in the wrong territory cause Sarina kicked back twice. the dr laughed and said 'well someone is definitely wiggling around in there!' too cute! I told her she was getting territorial now.

dh has gotten all the Cmas lights down outside, I've gotten all the ornaments off the tree and all the decor put up. still need to do the tree and lights then start on the food for tonight. I'm just kinda pooped. :P

hurt wrist from sleeping on it wrong

3 little ones are in bed, other two going soon. I've gotta wash my hair tonight, its yucky. :-P
I'm irked though cause my left wrist is hurting so much. yesterday it was doing good, but today, even after sleepign with the brace it hurts. I cant use it for any kind of weight at all. WTH? its not carpal tunnel stuff either, its the tendon on top of my wrist that hurts. it feels like I've overstretched it or something. I've had to catch myself a couple times today with my hand and dang if it doenst hurt bad and it gives out on me. I cant knit very well cause the brace just gets in teh way, plus I cant twist my wrist much. I cant use it to help pick up G either cause it gives out so I have to use my arm under his arm to lift him. ergh!!! gets on my nerves! (plus my typing is screwed up so I keep having to go back and fix stuff LOL).

dh is off work tomorrow (I guess the weekend actually, he didnt say) works half a day on monday and is off on tuesday. I've already got the stuff for our foods on monday (which is also my next dr appt). I'm going to fix/we'll have a cheese ball (first time making one, wish me luck!), smoked sausages, spinach dip, ranch dip, chips, salsa, ham/cheese pinwheels, summer sausage with sliced cheese, tomato slices, veggies like cauliflower, etc., and of course the regular drinks (sweet tea, etc and I got a free pepsi 2 liter for the kids today). we always just snack on NYE and enjoy a lazy day, so I'm looking forward to it.

dinner was good! I had every burner on my stove going, plus the oven tonight. the brownies are so fudgy and good! I think there are 6 left, which I'm sure will be gone tomorrow. no alfredo left, all gone! (love it when that happens), no breadstix either.
we watched reruns of ghost whisperer and moonlight tonight. I'll be glad when we get to see new eps!

dh is 40 this year!!! when we got married, he was 25!!!! geez, that seems forever ago!!

365, 24 weeks

baby has reached viability!

so lookit my ticker today! I'm 24 weeks, which is the age of viability! not that I want Sarina to come any time soon, but man, to be here already?! wowzers!! I do have belly pics to upload, along with a bunch from Christmas as well. and only 12 more days til I reach that double digit countdown mark! eek!!

didnt get any stats from the appt today. it was a wic checkin and I forgot to take any verifying info with me. so she just gave me a months supply and I'll get G's info in at the end of Jan. I felt so dorky. all the other appts I've been prepared, but this time my brain was not there. oh well.

I did get to walmart though while out since all the Cmas stuff was half off. picked up a few things with the GC FIL gave me. got some new Cmas boxes, ornament hangers, replacement lights, angel for the tree (misplaced my light up one and it was old anyway), a Coke lunchbox ornament for papaw for next Cmas, a wreath box for the new wreath dh got for us, disney princess wrapping paper... and maybe a couple more things. with K's GC from papa jim, I went ahead and got her an Ariel doll she's been wanting for a long time. she was super happy about that one!
and with Sarina's GC from papa jim, I got some more yarn to finish the sweater I'm working on, and a couple of scrapbooking things.

K is staying with a friend tonight, which makes her day.

for me, I've got another stupid headache today. I dont know what is causing me to have a headache every day but it really bugs me.
and my left wrist is hurting. its been hurting for a few days, but its really hurting now, cant really use it to pick up things that are over 5 lbs without it giving out. dont know what's up with it either. I've got my wrist brace on, hoping it'll help.

in good me news, I've not taken any cold meds since the night before last! so I'm about over this crud and the coughing/hacking and blowing are letting up fast. yay!!! I'll be SO glad when this stuff is outta here!

FIL got in last night about 9:30. he'll be here til wednesday evening. dh goes back to work wednesday too. so dh and FIL are out shopping today. I *think* they may be picking me out a new stove! FIL just called a bit ago and asked which one I'd been drooling over ( ). it's a flat top range if so. I told him if they did get me one, not to tell me the price cause I'd be telling them to take it back! I'm way to cheap. LOL!
I've wanted a flat top range as long as I've had my own place to live in. so we'll see!

I'm doing much better today congestion wise. I'm talking and all that and slept pretty decent last night. just up twice and once had to sit up and wait to suck on a Halls to help my throat. so just a lot of nose blowing today going on really.

oh, forgot to tell that when I was out friday, I stopped in the consignment store to pay on the crib and a lady and her kid came in. the clerk asked her if she felt ok (she knew her) and the lady said 'no, I feel like crap. I've got the flu."  so I avoid her like the plague and quickly get out of there! WTH is she doing going out to shop with the flu??? geez!
and then while at the grocery store, the clerk asked if I was having a Christmas baby!  I said 'noooooo, I'm going til April." to which she of course asked if I was having twins.  gee, thanks toots.

and speaking of baby things, my pg tracker thingy says I'm in my 6th month now. wow! makes me feel better with how big I feel. LOL.

I'm starting on a new baby sweater, wanted to try something a bit more complicated. we'll see how it turns out.

gotta go. G needs to take a nap and I just needed to take a break from all the up I've done today.

its hard to be cheerful when two people who I've been going through this
pg with have just lost their babies over this last week. both due to
genetic abnormalities that would have prevented them from surviving the
pregnancies, but still...
one I only knew vaguely through my OL group, but the other has been an
OL friend of mine since we both had our earlier babies (Garrett) within
the same 2 month pg group, so over 2 years now. She just lost her baby
girl on Tuesday night.
it breaks my heart like crazy.
my friend hadn't had an ultrasound (by choice) so didn't realize
anything was wrong, but the other had and knew it was coming.
I think I would want to know of something imminent like that. some kind
of way to prepare at least. not that much can prepare you for losing a
child, no matter if its before they're born.
It makes me so thankful to know I've seen baby Faith and as far as we
know, things are fine. I know nothing can guarantee any future, but I've
done what I can to 'know'. as she's wiggles and squirmed inside me
today, I tell her in my heart that I'm so thankful to know she's
healthy and with me.
I really dont know how I would handle losing a baby this far along. :_(
I'm just so heartbroken for my friends.

365, 23 weeks pg

it was a good night, though I was tired at 10 (of course didnt get my butt to bed til after 11) had to take a half dose of nyquil to help me sleep cause I've gotten congested.  lathered some vicks on me and Garrett (he also got a dose of benedryl since he's been doing the runny nose/sneezing thing) and sleep was pretty good. really good for him, he slept til about 8:30 this morning and I was up at 8.
I set up the other humidifier in our room this morning. dh asked me too cause he's been getting dried out and I've also had some bloody noses from the dry air. :P we already have one set up in the living room, but man, last I checked the humidity was down to 40% in the house and that's dry for here!
feeling better than I did last night though. I was getting queasy whenever I stood up there later in the evening and during the night.

we have frost on the ground this morning again. I know, not 7" of snow, but the kids think its cool.
yesterday was fine, church in the AM, they had the Christmas program too, which is always nice.  C and K ended up going home with friends so they could go back last night for the youth Christmas pizza party, so it was pretty quiet yesterday afternoon.
we took the boys to have chinese food for lunch (I could have gone for something cheaper, but dh wanted 'big' food). we did end up eating with my parents though cause they seen the little ford sitting out in the parking lot, so that was nice.
after we got home it was laziness abounding!  baby finally took a nap and the boys played games, dh and I watched football games while I knitted.
G came up sick yesterday. seems its hitting him the same way it did K cause he's got a fever and little runny nose.  he slept fine all night, woke up a bit once, but went back to sleep. he's still resting now, though I know he's hot with fever. I'll wait til he wakes up to dose him up again. I think it'll be a clingy day here, which is fine of course.
Gavin might be the next one, he's got a little cough and he's sniffing some.
no plans on going anywhere today or any other day til maybe wednesday for story hour. C's last day of school is wednesday til Jan. 2nd, so he's excited about this week. I think I'll go a bit nutso with them all home again for 2 weeks!
how did I do this before he was sent to school??? LMBO course his picking is one reason why he was sent to public anyway. loves to cause chaos with his sibs and that drives me bonkers. big stinker.
I do have to call a fridge repair person today. our inside fridge has a leak somewhere and dh cant find it. we keep finding a small amount of water standing by the fridge under the trash can. at first we thought it was melted ice since the kids love getting ice out, but it comes and goes without the ice being used. dh got under it last weekend, but couldnt find anything, so gotta call the fixers!

names...

baby girl is wide awake tonight!
and I've been thinking about names and have come to the conclusion that of all the names I've been over (the whole dang name book, the name wizard site and the Nymbler name finder...) nothing else sounds good to me. nothing. sure there's a few things that I think are nicer than others, but not really to name my daughter.
the name that sticks with me is Serena (Sarina?) Faith Angelina S.
there are two meanings to the two spellings of serena as well. the first, Serena=serene; calm. the other, Sarina is a form of Sarah (my neice is named Sarah)= princess. I like both though I'm more used to using the Serena form.
so I dont know. I think its going to be hard for me to think of this girl as someone other than a Serena (Sarina) Faith.
My mom doesnt like the name Serena, she wants a name of Mary, but looking it up, Mary=bitter; bitter sea. I wont use a name if I dont like the meaning, sorry. so that one is scratched off my list totally. sorry mom!
I guess I could just call baby girl Faith for now. I do plan on using that as a name, no matter what dh comes up with as suggestions (and Lord, I'm really wondering what he's going to pull out of the proverbial hat!).

school woes and starting the day.. over?

good night and all that. C woke up again with a sore throat and stuffy nose. he cracks me up though cause he'll go gargling some water and hacking then singing to see if his voice is back. silly kid.
of course I didnt get to sleep in today, again. he woke me up to ask for more lunch money. I swear I dont know where this kid puts it! I gave him $5 on monday for this weeks lunch (he only pays .40 for lunch and .30 for breakfast if he wants it) but I swear he goes and gets all kinds of extra stuff during lunch. if he gets extra stuff he pays regular price for it. now I dont want him to go hungry, but usually his extra is to buy a bottled water which is $1. Now I offered and DID buy gatorades and flavored water to keep here at home so he can take with him to save lunch money, but does he EVER take those? no! gets on my last nerve. so its time for another talk about $ responsibility I see.
then to top things off, the bus lady came the opposite way today. normally, he can sit here at the puter and watch out the window and see the bus coming down the road and head out in plenty of time to catch her. if she comes the other way though, he's not looking out that side of the house. so he's sitting here and hears the bus outside and breaks into an olympic run to get out of the house and down the drive. of course he missed her (she didnt wait or honk or anything!) so he comes back in the house and is CRYING cause he missed the bus. (now, I'm sorry this sounds awful, but WTH? LOL!) so he's all upset and saying 'you gotta take me to school cause I missed the bus! *sniff sniff*' and I'm like, well, fine, but I'm not jumping out of bed right now (it was 7:00) to take you. school doesnt start til 8. which totally upsets him. *sigh* so I ask, 'what time do you usually get to school on the bus?' to which he says 'I dont know! I dont wear a watch.' (totally his fault and he did used to wear one at the beginning of school AND he cant tell me he doesnt know the approximate time he gets there). so I ask again and he says 'well maybe about 7:30 or 7:45' ok. sounds good. so he heads out to pout some more and I get up to put on some pj pants (yep, I was going to be one of THOSE moms who wear her pjs into town!). as I go to the kitchen I tell him he better chill out and calm down and clean his face up (he's STILL upset!) and K is asking why he's crying. I told him, I could see being upset cause you were left AT school, but cause you missed the bus??? its not like I'm not going to take you! sheesh! I think he finally realized how silly he was being about it.
well, while I was brushing my hair, K hollered out that the bus was coming up the road and C bolted outside to catch it. seems maybe the kids on the far side of the route werent goign to be on today? so she made two trips down this road. oh well.
what a start to the day.

K and Gavin were up by then of course with all the commotion, but I was able to paci Garret about 6:30 and he slept on til 8. when he got up he was good for about 20 minutes, then he got his eye on the couch blanket that Hunter was cuddled under on the couch and decided it was going to be HIS. he tossed the awfullest fit about having that blanket.  so I took him and we got one of his big blankets out of his bed and I sat him on daddy's chair with the blanket. that lasted about 5 minutes and he was back to arguing for Hunter's! gah!! he was a BIG pain for a good 30 minutes cause of that and ended up getting in trouble and had to sit on the couch without trying to get down for a minute. he did finally concede when H got up and left the blanket and G got it. good grief.
I refuse to let the rest of the day go like its started!

the homeschool meeting ended up being canceled tonight. too many families were out of town and stuff so no sense of bringing just a couple families in. oh well. we ate the sandwiches and I got to nibble on lemon bars. quick and easy dinner! (dh also had soup).
Canaan wanted to go to a Christmas Chorus thing they were having at the auditorium tonight, so we let him go to that. K wanted to go at first, but with all the pouting and "I dont want to have to look after her" that Canaan did, she changed her mind. of course C was then saying "I want her to go!" but the damage was already done. I told him a person can only take so much "I dont want you there" and he needed to think ahead before he gets his attitudes.
kids were kinda wild tonight, dont know what was up their butts. bedtime was cute though, G seen that daddy had left the bedroom door open while checking his alarm, so he ran in real quick and hopped up on the bed and laid down like daddy. course he was quickly bouncing around on the waterbed and having a good time. LOL! all the kids came in to give kisses and G leans his head in to give daddy his cheek for a smooch too. I think that's so cute! he no longer gives kisses, but he'll tilt his head in so you can kiss him... time and time again! LOL!
he was ready for bed too once I got him out of the bedroom. told him I had his sucker (paci) and he ran to get that, plopped it in his mouth, then ran to K's room. LOL!

boring day. cleaned the house, mostly the kitchen. swept, mopped, scrubbed the floors (got all the little black marks off from some certain kids boots) all the cereal bars up from G, cleaned off the fronts of all cabinets and appliances (amazing how much stuff gets on the front of a pantry or fridge :P ). got a couple or so loads of laundry washed and a couple actually folded.
stuck my return labels on my cards and sealed up a couple of packages that'll go out with cards
K vacuumed for me tonight. I did vac part of the kitchen wall. I have a wall hanging thing that holds some pans and DANG it was dusty!!
dinner was papa johns pizza. had to go in town to take a kids movie back I realized was due today so got pizza while there. bad me!

I've got about half of K's scarf done today. she's eager for it to be done so she can play with the fuzz.

tomorrow I've gotta make some lemon bars (my first time!) and some finger foods to take to the homeschool meeting. hopefully dh will get home in time to go with me. its much better when I have him there to help wrangle the young uns.
C wants to opt out of going to the meeting to go to a chorus program at the library auditorium tomorrow. he'll know a couple people singing in it. we'll see on that though.

guess I should get my butt in the bed. seems the night slips away from me anymore!

OH, super cute thing G is doing though. if he's tired, I'll ask "do you want to go to bed?" and he'll take off running to K's door and try to get in (he cant turn a door knob yet, thank goodness, but he's close). so I pick him up and take him to bed where he rolls over, grabs K's stuffed kitty he likes sleeping with and goes to sleep! he also did that at nap time today and I didnt hear a peep out of him for 2 hours. love that!
now of course I'm wondering how he'll do once we have him a toddler bed to sleep in.

the tree is up!

the ballet

K and I had a really good night last night. it was really fun to watch
her get all excited when she finally found out where we were going. we
got there about 6, but they didnt open the doors til 6:30. she kept
saying "arent they going to let us IN??" LOL!
I tell you what, she's a terrible talker though! All through the show it
was "why are they doing that, why arent they wearing ballet shoes, those
guys sure do look funny in tights!, what's wrong with her costume?..."
she was still happy about it though. I asked afterwards if she'd go to
another ballet and she happily said yes, so that's all that matters, huh?
we were worried at first that she'd have a problem seeing. we were
pretty far in the back adn she had to look over the adults in front of
her. luckily she's 5' tall, so it wasnt so bad. there were much smaller
kids around us who had to sit in their parents laps to be able to see.
(good thing K didnt need to do that, 95lbs is NOT sitting in my lap! LOL).
I do have a few pics to share, but my pictures folder doesnt want to
open right now til I reboot so I'll have to do it later. no pics of the
actual ballet, I got a few short video pieces though.
we stopped at Arbys afterwards for a meal and I should have just gotten
a kids meal. cant believe I forgot to think of that. I got a beef and
cheddar and man, had to let K finish half my fries and didnt eat some of
my bread cause it as too much.

daddy survived with the boys at home. just some minor things that could
have happened while I was here too.

I started working on the booties to go with baby girls crocheted dress
yesterday. I'm just using a pink color that goes with the pink camo the
dress is. I *may* try to make a hat for it as well, not sure yet, we'll
see when I get these booties done. LOL!

going to the ballet!

went to walmart today. I got Garrett some of that fiber stuff you mix in drinks that's tasteless. I'm going to see how that works for him cause I forget to keep stocked on wheat bread for him. *blush*
I bought the Tinkerbell wall stick ons that I promised Katlyn and will get those up this weekend some time. and of course we went in the baby section to look stuff over! didnt end up buying anything! LMBO! the sales werent good enough yet and I didnt see any pacis that I wanted (for the right price!) so we'll keep our eyes out and find something later. we did see some cute Princess fleece that would make a nice blanket though. ;)

home afterwards! I'd had a headache creep up on me during the day and was itching to just veg for a while. K went to my neighbors (she wanted to tell her friend and I got to tell Regina that she was wrong this time cause she'd guessed boy! she was VERY happy to be wrong!), G went down for a long nap and the boys watched Voltron.

dh got home around 4:30 today! he's got to do a short inspection on a job tomorrow but besides that is off for the rest of the weekend. looks like K and I will have no problem going to the ballet tomorrow night!

I'm seriously running out of room to eat. It really does amaze me at how little I can eat already! my supper was one piece of pizza, shared some jalapeño tater tots with dh and my drink. I'm usually at least a 3 pc of pizza person, plus my salad and drink! I was seriously stuffed when I got done and never ate anything else the rest of the night, just my water I'm guzzling on now.

oh, Baby girl had the hiccups this morning!!! it was so cute. I love baby hiccups. and I love feeling her little fingers tickling me on the inside. it makes me think of when I seen her on the u/s and she kept rubbing the top of her little head and wiggling her fingers as she stretched.

I also started my u/s page today. hopefully I'll get it done this weekend, but I got my diecut finished and my pics printed at least!

more stuff from me just chattering away!

I'm SO tired tonight! not getting much sleep last night and all the excitement of the day has left me with drooping eyelids.

when C got home I asked him if he got his note and he said his math teacher had read it (cause it wasnt folded up like I left it :hmmm: ) and she said in front of the whole class "well congratulations Canaan!" he said "why?!" "cause you've got a baby sister on the way!"
then of course questions ensued about how many brothers and sisters he had and lots of 'wha?' and 'wow!' of course. LOL! he was so happy though!
and K is still riding cloud 9. she made a little sign on my scrap desk that reads "its a girl!" and there's a post it note on my monitor here that also says "its a girl" with little hearts all over it. she is SO happy!
I got calls from my big sis, my little sis, a lady at church (who's due a month ahead of me) and someone else I guess is from church, but only seen the #, not the name. PLUS when I read my phone messages today I got a really neat call. anyone remember back at the yard sale I stopped at and the lady of twin girls gave me the maternity stuff and let me pick some girl clothes? well, she had left a message today while I was out saying she had some boys 3T stuff and wanted to know if I wanted it or someone to give away to! (yep, I'll take it for G and Landon!) so when I call her back, I'm going to mention that we found we're having a girl! maybe she still has some of those little clothes left? I only picked a few I really liked cause I didnt want to seem greedy without knowing the gender LOL!! so who knows! I'd been thinking of stopping by her house after finding out who baby is anyway, so that was just a bit on the weird side of things to get a message from her on today of all days! LMBO!

dh didnt tell FIL tonight when he talked to him (not surprised) but when I talk to him next I'll let him know. he'll probably say something like "its about time" or such. LOL

and for other news I forgot to post about the u/s:
baby girls h/b was 156bpm today. she kept her arms snuggled up about her face the entire time, we watched her wiggling her fingers and rubbing her head (so sweet!!). her little bladder was full (just like mommy!) as was her tummy.
my placenta is on my left side though, NOT anterior like I figured it must be. she's just a mellow baby, not an acrobat (yet) like her brothers have been! (its been way to long for me to remember how K was in utero). she went from head down to transverse during the u/s, though she wasnt actually awake. she pretty much slept the entire time, just wiggled around a little.
all my stats were good, no weight gain at all this month, so still a 10 lb total gain so far *whew*, BP I forgot to write down cause I was such a chatterbox after the u/s LOL, but it was something like 150's over 52 or something ? I'll have to get the # the next time I go in. it wasnt like my norm, maybe from the excitement and also me having not eaten yet. ??
everyone got to hear little girls h/b when we went in to see the dr and he measured my belly for the first time (though I didnt ask what he got *duh!*, guess I can do it myself).

I feel like half my tummy is gone already. when we ate I got a 3 mini burger plate (3 krystal like burgers with fries). I could barely eat 2 of the burgers and most of my fries. this could be good though, keeps me from stuffing myself like crazy! LOL!!

names: I have NO idea now!! LOL!! being faced with actually picking one now I'm like opening a door I've not gotten to visit in a LONG time! so I'll start pouring over my book and see what everyone brings up!
 we dont use more traditional names really (if you cant tell LOL!!) plus I'd like to avoid another "G" name since we have two (not counting me who gets called Gina most often). my mom wants me to use Mary, but I know to use it, I'll have to find a variation or combine it with something else (mari-faith?) so we'll see how that goes.
oh, my mom said she was just kidding about naming her Seven. LMBO! which is good cause that one was a no-go!

I also couldnt resist going through the little tub of stuff I'd been putting back through the yard sale season. dug out the few boys things I'd picked up and seen what kind of girl stuff I had. the box has stuff from preemie to 3T. not a bad start and that does include sleepers. I know I've got a few other things in the closet in Ks room, its a small tub like the one I went through, though it also has more boy stuff that I kept back from Garrett, so I'll get to sort those out to find someone to pass them on to!
gosh, its a GREAT thing its not yard sale season anymore cause I'd have a REALLY hard time being out tomorrow and not trying to find stuff!! ROFLOL!!

got the news! Itty Bitty is...

afternoon ladies! my gosh, what a day! I did thankfully go to bed right after 10 last night and that's good cause after 1am, my sleep was very interrupted. LOL! first it was G needing a binky replaced, then I heard the cats, then to pee, then thoughts all through my head about the u/s today, everything over and over til I finally just got up as C was leaving for the bus.
he had come in asking me "are you nervous? are you excited? are you scared?" (yes yes no) LOL!)
I couldnt even eat breakfast this morning I was so nervous (when I have tons of butterflies in my tummy it always sends me to the potty :blush: ) we left on time and actually got there about 20 minutes early. not really a good thing on u/s day cause I knew I'd have to wait. LOL! and I DID have to wait, dang 30 extra minutes! LMBO! but I knew I could empty the bladder jug and it'd refill easily, so I wasnt that uncomfy, just antsy!!!!
so we got in there and the u/s tech was really nice (seen her plenty of times before) and I told her that we'd like to know who baby is if they cooperated! she said 'that shouldnt be a problem!' :D I had HUGE butterflies in my tummy and my h/b was thumping SO luoud in my chest! :lol: as she scanned over baby I thought I seen something, but didnt want to make any guesses til she got a good shot, so I waited.
oh, I should say that only Sis was in the room with me. my mom and the boys were out in the waiting room and Sissy was on the cell phone telling mom everything as we found it. "there's the face, a little arm, a leg, a femur (K: what's that? LOL)..." and mom can be heard saying 'tell her to hurry up and find the goods!' LMBO!

so very soon after that, the tech says "there it is!" I asked "are you sure?" "yep!"

I didnt get to buy anything from walmart for baby, too much in a hurry cause mom had to get to a job today (pout) but that's ok. dh got the lights up outside yesterday! looks so pretty! he's back out of town this week now *pout*. it was nice having almost 5 days with him though. sure made up for not seeing him much the past month.

we've mostly hung out family wise. saturday after a short stint in town we came home and I spent a few hours cleaning out Katlyn's room. *ugh!* I took out two bags of trash and 8 bags of things to go to goodwill and a couple things I'm taking to cosignment at least. looks much better in there though, at least its walkable now!

been working on a pair of baby booties!  got the first one done except the lace and tassles, working on the 2nd one now. need to get another blunt large needle so I can sew a lot quicker than just using my smaller crochet hook to pull the yarn through on projects like these.  LOL! but it gets done and I'm tickled silly with it!! I'll post pics when I'm done.

plans for today arent much. I've got a PO shop to do at some point this week. trying to decide when I want to go.

who's a nut? I'm a nut!

so I was one of the nuts out at 5 this morning. actually, I woke up to pee at 5 and it started my brain to thinking "gee, if I dont at least TRY to get some good deals, I'll be upset with myself." so I was in the next city by 6. yeah, I knew I said I'd not go. like I said, I'm a NUT! LOL!
so I swung by TRU cause they had a $10 MP3 player I wanted to check out. no luck of course and the lines were CRAZY. seriously, every single checkout line was backed up all the way to the back of the store! needless to say I didnt buy anything from there!
so then I went to best buy. I wanted that Nintendo DS bundle pack. when I got there I had to wait in line to get in! there were only about 25 people waiting, but they'd only let them in a few at a time as some people left the store. it wasnt so bad, I think I waited like 10 minutes.
so I get in the store to find out the bundle packs are a ticketed item and there were no tickets left, of course (this at 6:20 am), so I just got K a pink DS and we'll get games as we can and when dh gets his bonus. also went ahead and got another MP3 player, just like the black one I got C last week, only this one is red, for $35! (wish I'd known for sure they'd have it today or I'd have waited.) so I got that one for Gavin and will let dh take the CD player I'd originally gotten him (dh wants to take his language CDs with him while he's out of town). so Gavin will be super excited about that and I wont have to burn off CDs all the time. got 2 yr coverage on both items there.

after that, headed back to my town, stopped at hardees for breakfast and then to walmart. it was after 7 by now (yeah, got through best buy really quick, even checkout!) and walmart was a breeze! course they didnt have the transformers I was hoping to scope out, but did get a DS protector pack for K's gift (screen protectors, etc. for $7), a new DUO card for C's PSP for $20 and some stocking stuffers for the kids and found they had Corelle on sale for $17! so I bought a box of that that goes well with the one 4 pc set I already have. (I also have a set of stoneware, but its history now, read on).

so finally headed home after waiting for the bank to open at 8:30. I was SO tired, but I've not napped today and am quickly heading to bed in a bit LOL!

so after I get home, dh and C head in to town cause he wants to see what Lowe's has going on. he didnt find anything though and they were back later with nothing (imagine that!).

well, while they were out, FIL called to give me some $ for the month (woo!!!) so I had to go BACK in town after dh got home to put that in the bank (which worked out perfectly cause I thought I was going to have to pull out some of our extra cash to cover what I already bought today). while in town, I went ahead and got the grocery shopping done. BACK to walmart! LMBO!!! this time I spotted their robes they had on sale for $10. I got a pink one for K cause sh'es always stealing MY robes! and got some sharpies for C for a stocking stuffer cause he loves using those to draw with.
while I was there I ran into my brother and SIL, a homeschool friend, our renters and another friend. LOL! normally I dont see people I know!
I got home around 4:30 from that.

and get this, after I got home, dh realized he needed to go BACK in town to return a movie that was due today/yesterday (they werent open yesterday though). so of course he ended up renting a game for C and another movie (that man can spend a ton of $ at the movie store!). dinner was ham sandwiches for the boys and I snacked on summer sausage with cheese and wheat thins (as did Garrett).

I'm hoping tomorrow is boring! LMBO!!

you may notice that I've put pics in my blog again. ;) I'm slow at it, but yes, I do actually take them. I'm actually doing the 365 project (a pic a day of a certain subject-namely myself and what relates to me- for a year). to see all the pics I've taken since July 31st when I started, just click on the 365 label over on the right side in the menu on down. it does include belly pics! :) and yes, I'm huge. LOL!
I have of course skipped a few days, but overall, I'm happy with myself for remembering to do it longer than a week!

my 2nd trip to walmart on Black Friday.

hope everyone had a good day! you might as well call me a turkey, cause
I am still stuffed! I think the only bad thing about being pg during
Thanksgiving is that you cant eat as much as normal. I tried though (but
failed) but still came out glad knowing my dr appt is NOT tomorrow! I
dont think I'll weigh myself in the morning either, will save that one
for a couple days, let stuff digest. hehe!

dinner was great! its a really good thing I dont eat like that every
day! the turkey was soooooooooo juicy! gosh, I could go on about
everything, but I wont, needless to say it was all worth the work!

got pics, but havnet resized any yet. hopefully sometime tomorrow. still
not decided if I"ll go to walmart in the morning. thinking of it, but
the one deal I *really* want, I have to go to Best Buy and get. I sure
dont want to go there in the morning. I may see if the bundle I want
(Nintendo DS) I can get OL at the time. (they have the same bundle at
walmart, but at BB it also includes an extra game plus a starter kit AND
I can get the 2 yr warranty).

after getting home around 7 tonight, we watched Die Hard (the new one).
dh also rented Evan Almighty and one other movie for the weekend.

K is going to her friend Dana's tomorrow morning for the night. she's
very happy about that, been a while since she got to stay with someone.

besides my possible shopping, not sure what I'll have planned for the
day. its going to be crazy cold out though, so I know it wont be hanging
out at the pool!

speaking of C, he brought home his progress report yesterday. I'm pretty
proud of him. remember at the first report he had 2 or 3 uber F's on
there (talking 20's and such) well, now he brought the math grade up
from a 24 to a 77 (still has another paper to get graded in that score
as well). the science I dont know about yet cause the teacher has been
going back and forth to China for adoption and the subs dont know how to
input the stuff on the puter. but from the website its a good passing
grade. he has 3 As (PE, ART and Real World Math) a B in Math Strategies
(its an 89, so almost an A) and in Social Studies, (and dont ask me why
there are 3 math classes-all taught by the same teacher in the same
period that give 3 seperate grades)
his only known F right now is in Language where he failed a test and is
missing 3 of his accelerated reader tests. he can still turn those in
though before the end of the quarter so hopefully with those the grade
will come up to a passing (its a 50 right now).

so all the kids are home for the long weekend. it'll be interesting
cause C likes to pick on everyone. makes me remember why I stuck him in
school.

I'm going to get started on what I'm fixing for tomorrow today. on my
list is making the green bean mixture for the green bean casserole,
cooking up my sweet taters, making chocolate covered pretzels with nuts,
making two pies and boiling up a LOT of eggs for deviled eggs. but first
we have to go in town. *grrr* I didnt want to go in til friday. :P

I was ready to kick Cs butt again this morning. he has a bad habit of
waking me up before he leaves to ask if he can take his PSP to school
with him (so he can listen to music). I've told him at least 10 times
that NO, he's not taking that to school, at all! but he STILL insists on
waking me to ask! so when he's in today I'm warning him that if he asks
me once more, the PSP will be taken away for a month. cause of course I
cant get back to sleep once he wakes me up like that. little turd. I'll
let him take the MP3 player after Christmas, after all, its only about
$50 where the PSP is $150. ($50 is still a lot to me, but much more
managable if something were to happen to it.)

otherwise, boring day. I'm letting the kids play outside while its still
nice and G is finishing up his juice before he goes out. later I'll have
the kids make hand turkeys for Thursday.

we had a good day today. got a call from Ruth (shelter lady) and she asked if I could keep Sonny as an outside kitty and I could come in and pick another cat at no charge. she was worried that they'd have to find him an outside home anyway, so asked if he could stay here.  which is fine, he's really a nice cat and really great with kids. he's been going to the box since Tuesdays phone call (I swear he understands people!) but there's always that 'when he chooses not to go' moment again.
I did let him go outside on his own today. all the cats (I have 6 outside) were fine with him except for Spongebob. he's our alpha male and is such a butt. we have one other male cat outside (the gay cat, remember?) and he's fine with him, but he was giving Sonny a hard time of course. Sonny ended up hanging out under the porch mostly but wouldnt come back in when I offered it to him. I went out tonight to find him cause its going to be in teh upper 20's and the other cats have nice thick fur coats, plus know the warm places and all stay huddled up like a big ol heard of sheep together, but he was on his own.  he finally came up and he's in tonight. I'll let him go back out tomorrow during the day.
So I'll pick up Thomas tomorrow. he's the BIG male Garfield type cat. I asked dh his opinion and he wanted him over the younger female mom has (that's so pretty) cause Thomas is very laid back and would most likely ignore the baby where a kitten would be more curious. very true.
(though dh was saying babies in that sentence)

took the kids to captain d's tonight for dinner since its kids night. they loved that of course and everyone got to fill up for $15, which is such a deal!

dh will be home tomorrow finally!

and funny Garrett stuff. over the past month or so, he's gotten very jealous of anyone else that loves on me. no matter who it is, dh, siblings, etc, he throws a FIT at them and tries to get them off me. we go through this every night when C is giving me kisses before bed. he'll come up and hug me and if I'm holding G, G will start pushing C's face away or batting at his arms around me (same for dh too LOL) and hollering up a storm! if I'm not holding him, he's at my legs, pushing the hugger away and hollering his displeasure.  sooooooooooo funny!

he also loves belly buttons. if he sees a shirt he can get to, he has to inspect for a belly button. C is his favorite candidate (can you tell who he plays with the most?) and tonight while exploring for a belly button, he gave C raspberries on the belly too.

and the other day when my mom and pop were picking up that old recliner to take away? OMGosh!! Garrett threw the AWFULLEST fit imaginable!! he was in a total hissy because they were taking that chair!!!!!!  we were all cracking up cause it was so hysterical/comical that he'd do that! I really wish I had a video camera for that one. you'd thought we'd told him he could never have a paci again!

so I had a busy day. really just stayed busy all day. when not on here, I was finishing up all the boys laundry and have finally gotten ALL the summer stuff stashed and the tubs can go back out to the garage! took long enough! LOL! then went through sorting their drawers (Lord help me!), even did Canaan's. why is it so hard for even a 12 year old to keep the same things in one drawer? like all undies and socks in one, pjs in another, etc? I dont know how they find anything! its all sorted (for now) though.

after and in between laundry loads, I got the wood finish for the water heater closet stained and while I had the stain out, went ahead and did the kitchen window and the boys windows. they've been waiting to get stain on them for like 2 years I think. but the coolest thing is that while I was crawled up on the kitchen counter all scrunched up, Itty Bitty let me know they didnt like the cramped quarters and kicked me squarely in the gut! that was the biggest kick I"ve gotten so far!

so getting things fairly organized (but unfortunately not really cleaned up around here) Canaan gets off the bus about 4:15 to tell me that he has to build a pyramid and have it in by the morning! this falls under the category of laziness on his part. this is actually an assignment that he had and was due on the 9th!!!! the teacher being good as she is, is still letting him turn it in. of course with having only about 5 hours I had to do most of the brainstorming and work. its done though and he better not forget to take it in tomorrow! course after it was all done, he says "you need to teach me how to use all that stuff (hot glue gun, etc) and I said well if you'd give me more than a nights notice I would!
that stuff was part of a parent/kid lecture last night.

so tonight we also had the homeschool meeting in the midst of all this. we had to leave at 5:45 and got back about 9.

Garrett was a grouchy butt this afternoon, even with taking a nice long 3 hour nap today. glad to see him go to bed. LOL!

now my dad is on IM and has 4 different windows open on purpose! he's such a nut! LOL

ok, soooooooooooo, I spent the last almost hour in the bathroom (took a shower to hopefully help feel better, *TMI* emptied out the bottom half and just a bit ago, emptied out the top half.
if I toss my cookies its got to be bad! when the whole family was doing it last time, I was the only one not too. seriously, I've got a cast iron tummy.

17 weeks

I'm 17 weeks today!! time for a new bigger belly pic!

G got sick again last night after putting him to bed. I think it was
cause I let him have some chocolate milk after dinner. cause that's all
he tossed up. we had pasta alredo for dinner (daddy had soup/sandwiches)
and he ate well and kept it all in his tummy. so we'll hold off on milk
for another day or two til his tummy is all better.

we have story hour today at the library, but I think we'll stay home to
get some school work done. we'll try to go back next week.

we got frost today and the kids are out checking it out.

Sonny on blankets I made

I'm kinda bummed this morning. looks like Hunter passed on the sickies to G this weekend. he woke up having puked in the bed this morning and couldnt keep his juice down earlier, so no food/drinks for little man for a while. :-(
K and C are *supposed* to be staying with my sis tonight, but now I'm not sure. they just got over the crud (the reason why they didnt come to the weenie roast the other night) so I'd hate to send something back over to them. :-(  aggravating.

still working on getting laundry done. I slacked off on the boys things by the end of the week, so still have a LOT of their dirty stuff to get washed and summer stuff sorted out. have got all of G's stuff done though. set aside things he's outgrown or wont be able to wear next warm season and will wait on what to do with that when we find out who's growing in my belly.

my brother and SIL started moving into their new house yesterday! its really nice and I'm very happy for them! its a 3bd 2 bath brick with a good sized yard (maybe 1/4 or 1/8 an acre?) good sized LR, decent sized kitchen and a utility room and a carport. so much bigger than the place they're moving from and in wonderful condition!!. they're only repainting one room (Landon's) and the rest of the house is done in neutrals (Landon's room is a bright green right now).
makes me want to start fresh in my house!

Sonny did better last night, he only woke me twice instead of several times.  hopefully he's getting used to the place. he's resting on the table by my puter now. earlier he was on top of the dryer while I was folding clothes. he's very personable.

today was good. supposedly got an extra hour sleep, but no luck on that in reality. I forgot to mention that we got a new cat on friday. he's pretty dang loud at night (though the kids sleep through it) but me being inclined to wake at anything the kids do, am woken up every time he decides to start 'talking'. so I've been dang tired the past couple of days from interrupted sleep. hopefully he'll quit being so noisy before long as he gets used to the place and it'll quieten down. his name is Sonny Boy, BTW, the shelter named him. we just call him Sonny. we were going to change his name (dh suggested Fabio LOL) dont know if we actually will or not though.

dh got home this afternoon from GA. he's working around home this week, so we'll see him every night! it'll be a nice change from the past month.

last nights weenie roast was fun! I ate 2 or 3 hotdogs though they were all shared with G and a couple plates of chips (also shared with G) some roasted marshmallows and cookies (also all shared with G). he also ate from all the families plates and had 2 cups of diet coke (only thing close to caffeine free there) and some sunkist and half a glass of lemonade he came with. he PIGGED out!!! he ate more than me!
the kids played basketball, romped around, ate like crazy, had hot cocoa, and went on a super long hay ride. we left about 8:15 cause dh had to go to bed to be up at 3:30 this morning to go out of town til sunday evening. (boo-hiss) so all the older kids stayed with my mom while dh, me and G went home.

mom and papaw brought the kids home this morning (C stayed with them though). we had planned on going to a Veteran's Day outing they have every year, but the paper gave the wrong date (the 10th) and its actually today. so by the time they got home, it was too late. so we're just hanging out at home for the day.

G's been in fine form today. I've already had to rescue him from several situations, including getting him out from under the playdoh box he pulled down off the shelf on top of himself. I smashed my index finger moving the barstool out of the way. *ouch!!*

in totally Garrett related news, he can now climb to the top of the bunk beds. really fast too. he got pretty dang mad when we finally booted him out of the boys room. *sigh* I was really hoping that would be a while down the road. dont know why I thought it would be, just hoping.

16 wk dr visit

finally able to sit again. had my dr appt this morning!
my stats go as follows: BP 115/64 (nurse was saying "that's kinda low, so if you feel light-headed...." to which I told her its actually kinda high for me.). heartrate was 105 (which is high, guess I'm running faster than norm this pg) and weight is up 5 lbs. so that's a 10 lb gain total so far. geez, no wonder I feel huge.

I got my blood work done. easy schmeasy, though I did ask if she needed a dozen vials.

got my next appt set up! Nov. 29 at 9:45 I'll get to see Itty Bitty!!
the dr. today was searching for IB and finally found them way down low hanging out. well, he kept getting two different h/b sounds! but they were close together (as in only about 2" apart) and he kept going back and forth between them with a funny look on his face. I said "need to pull out the u/s machine?" he laughed and said "nah, I'm not worried." (well poot!) I told my mom that and she was like "oh Lord, I dont know how I'd handle two!" ( I think that'd be me. LOL)

after that, stopped and finally got dh's car inspected and got his real tags, stopped for lunch and then back to moms. tried to take a nap as I was pooped at that point, but no go cause the kids kept waking me up for mundane things and then G woke up.

once we were back home, I started cleaning up the kitchen, mainly the floor, then got vacuuming done and finally the kids bathroom (double yuck ).
I think we'll just have soup/sandwiches tonight. dh said that's what he wants all next week to help with losing some of the weight he gained while out of town (they tend to eat out a lot) so I'll just start a bit early.

You may already know about this, but I just learned about a kids movie coming out in December starring Nicole Kidman. It's called The Golden Compass, and while it will be a watered down version, it is based on a series of children's books about killing God (It is the anti-Narnia). From what I understand, the hope is to get alot of kids to see the movie - which won't seem too bad - and then get the parents to buy the books for their kids for Christmas. done some more loads of clothes, mostly coats/jackets. I swear dh has more than anyone else in the house!!! and of course his are HUGE so I can only wash like 4 at a time. I'm done with those after the next drying cycle though.
still need to wash all the boys dirty clothes so I can sort out any summer stuff to put up before taking the tubs back out. same with K's things. its gone rather easy this year.
I also went through my living room closet and took out some old blankets and curtains, rearranged the pillows (again) and got it all situated nicely.
found 3 more baby blankets (2 I'd made for K and H and one made for H by a lady at church).
I still need to clean up sooooooooo much. my house looks like a wrecking ball hit it.

16 weeks and Gavin lost a tooth!

I swear I'm feeling SO big now a days. I really hate to complain, but gosh-a-mighty, I'm only on the verge of 16 weeks. I've got SO much more growing to do. I feel like I'm going to be gigantic before April! I'll just have to watch my eating (which BTW is getting harder cause sweets are now starting to sound so much better).

next appt is on Thursday! I *think* I've only gained 3 lbs for this month, which is normal. amazing though how those 3 lbs can make you feel so big. :P

I did realize the other day that my braxtons had started up. likely they've been going on for a while, I've just not paid attention. I did notice the other day though.

Gavin lost his third tooth last night! he has two more that are loose, but not enough to take out just yet. he was pretty upset when daddy was taking it out. daddy asked him what he was so upset about and G said "cause you want to take my tooth out" *sniff sniff* and daddy said "I've already got your tooth. see?" to which G was like 'wow!' and immediately ok. he woke up when C was up for school to check the 'tooth fairy dish' and found his money.

strange baby dream last night. it was a long drawn out one, but skipping to the main part: it was some sort of mystery dream (aka: who did it) and I was on the search for clues. found some paperwork of 'things to come' and it was a file on someone wanting to kidnap my baby girl. course I knew the information now (was still even pg) so I would know who to look for and be able to kick their butts before hand.
guess its cause I was watching CSI and Journeyman last night.
but there's another dream for Girl. not that it means anything with my history.

the wedding went over GREAT and it was so beautiful out there. I've uploaded a few pics of things, though certainly not all!
they DID end up with a pro photographer! another lady from church came out for them. they'll get to pick 50 pics for $100 as a starter package. cant wait to see them all, she said it'll be about 2 weeks. woo!

I am SO tired and my feet are killing me from all the walking and running around we've been doing this week! especially the last couple days! tomorrow I've still got some running to do. have to go in town in the morning for FIL and a shop, then we'll head to my moms to help with cleanup.

the only downer part of the night was my brothers dad ( humongous roll eyes at this man!) first off, they had to set the date for THIS day because of him (he told John this was the *only* day he'd be able to make it in since he was goign to a festival a couple hours away) then he gave him the time frame (he told John he could only be here for 3 hours total). so then he gets here and when he's ready to go, he wants John to leave the wedding and escort them back out to town (too stupid to find your way out???). so John was gone after the eating for about an hour. it was getting late by then and tasha went ahead and went home cause Landon was way past ready to go to bed (poor thing hadnt napped all day) and when John came back to moms, was sad she was already gone.

the good news though is that after Tasha's parents got home, they made them get in the car and he escorted them around the square honking the horns at everyone (a 'tradition' in town after someone gets married) and Lisa (tasha's mom) said they came home with big smiles on their faces after that.
