Angels!

had a good checkup today (besides the shots which totally broke my heart ). Garrett did so well, laughing at the nurses and not peeing on anyone (which he peed on me again after we got home : twice in one day, we have a record!)

Garrett is 13.4 lbs, 24 1/2" long and his head is 16". my growing boy!

the dr said he went from the 50% at his 2 week check to the 80%/85% now. so he'll be a strapping boy just like my others (well, Canaan always topped off the charts, so I guess he was a boot-strapping boy LOL )

we did decide not to do any meds for his reflux right now. since he's gaining so well the dr isnt worried about it. but if he starts refusing to eat because of it then we'll take bigger measures. which is fine with me, cause we dont do medicines much here anyway.

did ask her about Katlyn and she thinks like I do that in about 3 or 4 more days it'll all be over. no fever, just the stuffiness is hanging around. made me feel better.

and for a big ol' GOD WAS WATCHING OVER US moment, I always say a prayer before we get on the interstate. did the same today of course. well, about half way down, there are two semis in front of us. the one on the inside lane (next to the median) starts billowing smoke from the tires! the truck next to him start slowing down drastically and so do we. then we see what he was trying to stop for: a fully loaded semi was careening through the median the WRONG way! thank God the truck that ran off the road was able to control his truck and was able to stay upright and bring himself to a stop (way after we got past though).
can you imagine the damage of 3 semis in front of us colliding? we were behind the one on the outside lane a couple of car lengths. scarey!!!!!
Cant tell me God doesnt watch over. my mom said after that, that she felt the need to pray for protection today too. awesome huh?

the shower and plugs falling

Sorry its taken me so long to get back on here, just now getting the time or energy. LOL!
yesterday was great! we do realize though that we should have started earlier yesterday. LOL! mom and I were still working on stuff when people started coming in. oops! it was cool though cause it was family so they helped out with the last minute stuff.
The shower was so fun, my crazy aunt and cousin know how to liven up a place which in turn livens up mom and I, so we were laughing so hard my tummy was hurting and mom nearly peed on herself at one point.
I'm not sure how long it lasted, I think about 8 possibly but people hung around for a long time to yak and eat and all that good stuff.
I didnt leave with the kids until after 10 (dh left about half hour earlier) and I got in bed at 11:30.
I was SO sore and tired! the first time I woke to pee, I didnt know if I'd make it cause I had to go so bad, but couldnt move that fast.
I'm better today though, just taking it easy after church, doing a lot of sitting!
I have tons of pics to post, not all that were taken though, there were over 100, so I tried to pick the best ones or the funniest ones. LOL! plus pics of all the gifts I got last night and also today at church!

In some great pg body news though, I started to lose my mucous plug today! been having a few contrax off and on as usual, but nothing to get me as excited as seeing that nasty plug stuff.

also, I have to give thanks to my church members. we werent going to be able to send the kids to church camp this June for the first time since they started going. just didnt have the money at all. the church asked us if we needed help and I said yes, but then felt guilty about it cause we couldnt help at all with it. we had like $6 to put towards thier camp fund. (the cost is $110 per child). so I wasnt going to let them go. then with Canaan so upset about it, I was going to let him go, but keep Katlyn home since she hadnt really said anything. so today Pastor Toby talked to us (the youth pastor) and I told him what I'd planned and he said "nope, they're both paid for! of course they both want to go!" which Katlyn was nodding her head vigorously to! Canaan was jumping around he was so excited! I'm just touched and humbled by it. we've always been able to pull out some way to get them to camp and this year just wasnt coming together. they are SO happy now!

also, thanks to a "little blessing" I received from a friend, I stopped today at the store and did their 5 family packs for 19.99 which I was able to get 2 big boxes of breakfast TN Pride sausage biscuits, a huge box of corndogs, a family pack of ribeye steaks and sirloins! awesome deals! Thank you!

tons of new pics in the flickr account, go check them all out!! :D

Easter fun update!

Happy Resurrection Jesus (thank you!) and a beautiful day to all!

got a ton of pics to share from this afternoon. will post those in a sec. Church was good, really enjoyed it! I even had some words of wisdom given to me (the spirit gave them to the sunday school teacher to give me-along with other people who had words given). which was really cool, cause it was totally on the mark in something I could understand.
they went like this
1. Your best is yet to come
2. I'll give you wisdom to pass on to your children
3. I'll not change the course I've called you to

now, these are significant to me because I've been having many doubts lately about if I'm a good homeschool mom. (the usual, 'do I do enough', 'how long will I do this', 'is it the best thing', etc...) now, the teacher today does NOT know that I homeschool nor did I say a thing about any of it, its all just been on my heart and mind for a while. so to have those words spoken to me really say a lot and give me a refreshment. so awesome the way God does that!

for service, the group my mom sings with did a special song, His Life For Mine. My mom had put together a video presentation to sing along with the song on the overheads with footage from The Passion and man, it was SO good! everyone was riveted on the screens, just so touching with such beautiful music.

oh, another great thing, Hunter finally got a quiet seat prize at sunday school!!! its been a few months since that happened! LOL!!

we went to my moms after church and started dinner. Dad and the kids got there about an hour later and dh was right behind them. dinner was great, grilled chicken, burgers and hotdogs with mashed taters, corn, baked beans, chips and salad. *yum yum!* mom also fixed banana pudding. hehe!

after the food settled a bit, we sent the kids down to the creek with papaw so we could hide the eggs (over 200 of them!). the kids had a blast to say the least! they all made out with money, some more than others. LOL!
gavin found $22
Hunter found $14
Katlyn found $13
Canaan found $12
the other kids (Anthony and Hayley) also found $, but I cant remember how much). the rest was in CANDY so yes, we are plenty stocked on chocolate for a while! LOL! oh, some real eggs too that mom and I did.

so it was a blast. my brother and SIL came over after the egg hunt and brought Tyson (mini-pincher) and he entertained everyone. he learned how to slide down the slide by himself (so funny!) and the kids got pushed and twirled on the big tree swing. they are surely very worn out tonight!

Jackson - a baby angel

In very sad news, Jackson did indeed pass away last week. A day before he turned four months, they let him go off the respirators and medications. He had a massive infection in his body and more surgeries were needed and the dr.s were sure he wouldn’t make it through in his weakened state.
The funeral was so hard to watch. His parents amaze me in their strength though. They are glad he is no longer suffering.

fast is fast ending

just think, tomorrow, Thursday, I can have another Dr. Pepper!
*dreamy sigh* I avoided it today by getting a mello yellow, I was craving that fizz feeling. (what's up with that?) so I actually made it the whole three days!
this IS a big thing for me. ;)

sis and dr. pepper

Check out my little sister’s art projects she’s been working on in college. They’re awesome of course, so proud of her!

I’ve stayed away from the Dr. Pepper today. It was hard to cause it was calling my name!!! Seriously, it was speaking to me and it sounded awfully sneaky.
I resisted though! I’m happy, but man, am I looking forward to Thursday when I can have another. LOL!
